What WAS on your Plate & What's for Dinner Tonight 12/30
Any plans; or will we all be asleep, lol
Last night was a freezer stash beef pot pie.
And, company arrived late last night. After driving all day; they crashed early. I made a overnight breakfast casserole; so, this am, just threw it in the oven. They are at the beach with grandparents, back late tonight.
Me, it is our After Christmas/Christmas party with my poker/fishing friends.
Old School Classic Favorites Tonight
- Chilled shrimp w/cocktail sauce or green goddess dip; oysters rockefeller; pimento cheese stuffed cucumber slices; blue cheese stuffed olives
- 2 whole beef tenderloins w/horseradish sauce, mustard peppercorn vinaigrette, or port gravy
- Sauteed sherry mushrooms; twice baked stuffed potato halves
- Classic wedge salad w/bacon, onion, tomato, ranch or thousand island
- Brownies w/ice cream, chocolate/caramel sauce, whipped cream, cherries
15 of us - we all get a dish/or two to make, or bring something to the party.
Me, Sherried mixed mushrooms and onions; warm and spicy roasted nuts

Thx, but it is a part time job too. But, my casserole I just made last night for this am. It's one of those easy, make ahead dishes.59chevymom wrote:You sure cook KChurchill.. amazing! Tonight I'm making a beef stew served with bread. Happy New Year!
But, tonight I'm only making 2 items. I just get to eat all the good stuff everyone else makes.
Our group has a bunch of foodies; so, we try to really out do ourselves every year.

Beef stew is always good cold weather food. I FL, it was 85 and humid yesterday; and 83 today. Not exactly cold weather food; but, I still make it now and then.
I love the idea of chicken sammies dipped in gravy. That is decadent!
