If you are cooking pasta, potatoes or other vegetables in water the water should taste like the ocean. Chef Thomas Keller has a youtube video on cooking vegetables that is very good.

Its just me now but when my husband and daughter were alive we would do a big traditional Thanksgiving with turkey and all of the fixings. Christmas I would do something special but never turkey or ham. One year I did prime rib, another a crown pork roast and one year I did a big seafood feast. And ...

In school, every recipe said to taste under salt and pepper. Some foods are naturally salty, for example cheese, olives, or capers.
