Morning everyone,
Welcome to August 1st.
Church, I am responding to your last post in the July thread. We are 10 degrees higher then the big city. This is due to distance, location to the lake & elevation. Where is Donna as she loves to laugh about by elevation of 350 feet. Today it depends on which weather report you believe. The newspaper says a little of everything. The news last night says sunny, hot & humid. The humidity at this time is 100% with a temp of 72F. One thing I know for sure is that we are back into the high 100 degrees with Dd's storm hitting on Sat.
Just sitting here looking at Dd's flight which leaves at 7am. I set my table this morning. A few more final food prep items to do as I get closer to her arrival.
This is a long weekend for us with the holiday on Monday. I thought the USA would have this day off also but am told that is not so?

Hope you have a nice visit with your daughter, Ninner. Nope - not a holiday in the US.
Tonight I will probably grill burgers and make some sweet potato fries plus regular fries for my bf. If it is another stormy night, then I am not sure what I will make instead. I really don't want to make the burgers indoors. Possibly baked fish & chips, with some chicken for my bf.
I still haven't made the cookies I promised to bake last week, so maybe I get those made today.

Today's installment of the medical mystery tour will now include: Hounding the lab that took my blood to see if it's not too inconvenient that they actually do the required testing and then perhaps pass it along to my doctor and the hospital; stopping by the podiatrist's office to pick up a handwritten prescription for the EKG that my primary care doctor decided I didn't need (conveniently, AFTER he discovered his machine wasn't working) but that they hospital says in no uncertain terms I WILL have today or they won't allow the surgery Friday; driving across town to the ER to get the EKG done as an outpatient (which I'm sure won't take any time at all); going to the DMV to get my temporary handicap permit.
Long story short, I ain't making dinner. I'm probably going to come home and take a pain pill not for pain but purely for my nerves, eat a massive bowl of Cocoa Puffs, and collapse in a heap.

Felix, I am sorry. Nothing is ever easy. I will be thinking of you on Friday.
I take it you will not be staying in the Hospital overnight?

Oh, no worries. My podiatrist's office called. He has decided, AFTER booking the OR, that I am too high-risk of a patient. Thus, he is cancelling the surgery and firing me as his patient. But he's waiving the normal fee to transfer my records for when I do find a new podiatrist. Isn't that nice of him?
I have been spewing a string of words that would make my Navy sailor father blush, in between bouts of hysterically crying.

My goodness Felix! How nice of him to transfer records at no charge. I go fired as a patient once. It was due to my attitude. I just did not like him.
Well if my Mother was here she would say that everything happens for the best. Yes I know that statement did not make me feel any better at the time.

Wait what? You doctor fired you as a patient? Talk about taking it to the last minute.
Honestly Felix, in a way I am relieved for you. A second opinion may be in order regardless. It sounds very odd that your doctor would make such major plans for your body and then suddenly decide you didn't need it after all. That makes me question any of his judgements. I hope your next doctor will give you a better diagnosis.
I still vote yes for the cocoa puffs though - they always sound pretty good to me

Definitely Cocoa Puffs! And tequila, I think.
