"My kids have always wanted these at a cookout. They are the regular-size hot Italian sausages, split before cooking, with peppers and onions on top in a homemade burger roll. Easy and good. You put two sausages on a roll and then the toppings."

Delicious! We skipped the hot pepper but served the sausages with the green peppers and onions along with some cheese -- delicious and perfect for an easy supper. Thanks for sharing!

My son and his fiance came over to watch the game with me, so I made a few goodies, and this is one. First off, I used my griddle to cook everything on starting with the peppers and onions. When they were done I took them off the heat and wrapped them in aluminum foil, and set aside. I then cooked the sausages. I had 6 (8" long) sausages. I didn't cut them (cooked them whole) on med heat to try to keep the spattering down, and browned them up as best I could. Then I added the onions and peppers back in, and let them simmer together for awhile. When we wanted to eat I stuffed the sub rolls with the sausage, then loaded them up with peppers and onions. We all agreed they were delicious! Reminded me of the Fair, and how much I loved these subs, and that I need to make them more often!

Courtney, I can't tell you how many times I made these this summer, but I am still making them out on the grill. Yup, not much snow yet! They are enjoyed by my family and the neighbors. Yup, they seem to drop over every time these are on the grill! We like both the sweet and hot sausage, so I always make both.

I made these on sub rolls and the whole bunch of us moowed them down in no time flat. I used hot sausage for my wife and I and the kids had sweet. They are excellent! Between me, the wife and kids we give these 10 thumbs up! I will be making these often throughout the summer.
