"I'm moving this recipe from another site that has changed hands a few times that I don't want to use anymore. Awhile ago I ordered Crawfish Cakes (like crab cakes) at a restaurant and just loved them. I looked online but couldn't find anything similar to them, so I modified a crab cake recipe of mine and it turned out fabulous. I used frozen crawfish chopped up, buy you could likely substitute fresh crawfish/crayfish or crab or even cooked shrimp. Serve with the sauce in the recipe or cocktail sauce. FYI...these patties aren't as solid as a regular burger, so put on a plate or a bun using a spatula."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine all patty ingredients except oil.

Step 3

Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add spoon 1/3 cup mixture into skillet for each patty, cooking 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. The patties will be very loose when you first flip them over. Use a spatula to flatten them after they are flipped, and flip again if needed until they firm up.

Step 5

Drain on paper towels. If they are still fairly loose, then use a spatula to transfer to a bun or plate.

Step 6

Serve patties topped with sauce or cocktail sauce.
