I have been gone for a while, and was just thinking about it. Where is Laury?

I'm around occasionally. I do more lurking than posting except for Fun With Words. I am here almost everyday.

How have you been? Your health any better? Same? Feeling good?

Dissie, my body seems to be getting worse. Last year only my right lung had nodules building inside. This year it is both lungs. What this means is I have to stay on oxygen almost 24/7/365. The disease is called Rheumatoid Lung. There is no cure. The majority of medicines for rheumatoid arthritis have aspirin in them. I'm allergic to aspirin.
Having Tom retired does mean that I have to do a lot less. Please, understand that I am not unhappy or discouraged. I have taken my time to accept it.

So there is nothing they can do? It is awful that you can't take most of the meds for this type of illness. I figured out from the previous posts that what you had was pretty serious.

It is very serious! Until this year I gave my family a break if they didn't want to have the flu shot. This year, they don't get a choice. The serum is incubated in eggs which I am sensitive to. I had to tell them if I catch it, it would mean hospitalization and possibly death. My sister used to say "I don't like shots. They hurt!!" This year she has gotten one.

I am so glad that your family is complying and trying to keep you healthy! That has to be a load off your mind a bit. I mean, you don't have to worry about getting the flu atlteast. Or atleast your chances are lesser.

I do hope you have a good winter. Last thing we need is for you to get sicker due to colds and flu.

Thanks for sharing with me your condition and illness. I knew it was bad, but never felt comfortable actually asking you outright about it. Didn't want to be too nosy!
