Decided on turkey brats. Heat index is 114, bleah. And I fried up the ground round and mixed it with rice for my poor Rhett who doesn't have an appetite.

Morning All!

Another 3 hrs sleep and a lot to do. Most of it aggravating stuff,so I am not looking forward to it.

Lady #1 and #2: Card/Game Night
Sausages - hot, mild, chicken, sage, sundried, mango, etc. I got 5 different kinds.
Grilled, served with onions, peppers, and mushrooms as a side; a couple of sauces; spicy grilled corn salad; cheesy stuffed bread; stuffed pickles; and goat cheese stuffed tomatoes

Me: Out
Happy Hour w/friends - Mexican Night
They have great 2/1 specials on appetizers. We get a bunch and just split them. Also, don't forget the beer and margaritas.

We ended up going out for Mexican food and margaritas. Chorizo dip and fish tacos, YUM!!

Tonight is opening ceremonies, so excited! Doing a platter of British cheese, some bacon wrapped sausages and whatever else I feel like tossing on,the plate.

I will try to send you some of mine - we must be getting all the rain in FL up here in Tampa!

Dinner should be chicken & apple sausages with some German red cabbage and red skinned boiled potatoes on the side. Hopefully I will get some cookies made for dessert too - been planning to try out a recipe for Grand Marnier cookies.

Dinner sounds good HF; yes, I see you are getting rain ... NOT us.
Love cabbage, sounds delish

D - enjoy. One of my favorites is bangers and mash. A local market gets the bangers and they are really good. Basically sausage, but always good.
Have fun. Sounds like a good time. We were thinking about doing something, but it fell through; Just me after happy hour and I will be watching. I love all the events.

Fried fish and chips, and mushy peas would of been on my menu at the local Pub tonight; but I couldn't get the guys to go for it. Instead they want Mexican, NOT Olympic food, lol.

I do have some nice Ale in the fridge to enjoy when I get home. :)

Holy humidity, Batman! There's been rain surrounding us (but not falling here, goodness no!) all day. I had my surgical consultation this morning, and he assures me it'll be either next Friday or late in the afternoon next Thursday. Oh boy! :?

Dinner tonight is going to be leftover shrimp pasta primavera, since I didn't eat it yesterday. I'll cook tomorrow.

Work was running late for 3 friends, and their SOs decided not to come. Another said, friends coming over for olympics. SO, NO HH.

Ran errands, this and that, and just got home. Decided to have some leftovers. Have plenty and I don't mind. Wanted to watch the Olympics anyways. Need to catch up on paper work and this is the perfect night to do it.

Over for a swim, dinner and then, chill out. All is well!

Morning,

The heat continues with a 100% humidex. The corn & grain farmer's crops are over as the rain came to late. The soy bean crop is the only one that will survive. The sever thunderstorms hit many fields, homes, farms, community centres burning them to the ground. This week we are receiving new mini potatoes & tomatoes which I purchased a basket of each. Yesterday the news stated it was cooler??? Just getting into my car to run errands in the morning & I was dripping.

Dinner last night was lasagna which I turned the oven on for. The 1st time in over a month. I have cooked bacon on the grill this morning for bacon & tomato sandwiches plus boiled some of the potatoes to make a gr. beef casserole with lots of roasted veg.

The Canadian Open is now coming down to the last 2 days with the finals on Sunday. Very busy here with many on the roads doing U-turns in front of you or stopping dead in the road because they are lost. I will be glad when it is over. Then I can watch the Olympics.

Dd arrives on Wed at noon. Had some water damage in her bedroom window due to the storm. I think the pump did not go off? That problem is being addressed as I post.

Dinner will again be at the golf club as we have many friends that volunteer in the VIP sections so they let us in.

Felix, I hope your vacation will still happen but I guess it will be on crutches.

Have a great weekend everyone & try to stay cool.

Morning All ... OK Afternoon!

No internet this am. A truck parked down the street doing something. TV was fine and phone, just no internet. They put in a new box last week for the cables in the development, so I think they were just 'tweaking' it. It was up in about 3 hours.

Olympics I have been watching since 5am; a bit of cleaning, laundry, a couple of normal errands; but no market today. An odd week coming up with work - so I didn't want to get too much on hand without knowing my schedule.

HOT, DRY, normal FL. But wish we had our pm storms.

Easy today:
New recipe I'm trying to perfect
Easy poached salmon in the microwave ... yes microwave.
It has wine, lemon, dill, peppercorns, broth, and onion. Topped with a scallion butter.
Serving it with roasted baby carrots; and a broccoli rice. Simple white rice, tossed with very fine chopped broccoli, shallots and a simple all purpose NO-SALT seasoning. The rice is really good with a little rice on it; but I want to keep it a bit healthier.
