Re: It's Freaking HOT!!!
Then a cooler spring, but extremely DRY just like winter was.
Then it just got HOT, almost instantly in may and again stained HOT with hardly any rain.
NOW, we are drowning due to tropical storm Debbie. BUT, I can't complain, we definitely needed the rain, just not all in 1 3 days. However ... It was needed. We didn't get nearly as much as some, but it isn't over either. But the temps are lower with the storm which is a nice change; but in between the rain, the humidity is 90%+ so very sticky.
I would much rather have 88-90, hot and sunny - then pm storms that cool everything off. That is what summer is supposed to be. We haven't had much of that pattern for the last couple of years. I would love that.

Definitely bizarre, though! March was 80F. April was barely 50F. May was fairly normal, then the beginning of June was cold again. And then the heat came. We increased almost 40 degrees in the space of a few days. We've already had more days over 90F this year than we normally have all summer, and summer has barely started.

Hey GF, I'm sorry I've been slow responding but we lost phone/internet service yesterday and finally got it back this afternoon. I don't even want to think about the rest of summer if it's this hot now. ;)Kizzikate wrote:Sweltering here, too. But most of June was pretty mild, so I guess we should be grateful we had that!

Kc, I was so hoping Debby would head west instead of east! We're so dry here too.Kchurchill5 wrote:We were so HOT all winter which was very wierd.

I know what you mean about those pop-up showers. I loved those when I visited my parents.

Yikes Felix! I was telling DH that in PA we didn't have air conditioning in our homes (maybe a window unit in the BR) or in our cars. This kind of heat would have made us miserable. Air conditioning to us was opening the windows. Are more people getting air up north, just wondering, or is everyone hoping this too shall pass?Felix4067 wrote:We're in the middle of a short cooldown, but it's not gonna last. We're supposed to be up at 100F (actual air temp, humidity will increase it dramatically) by Thursday and sit there for about five days.

Most people have air now, purely because they think they need it. We don't at our house, not even a window unit, because there are normally barely 10 days a summer when it would be handy...fans are usually good enough. This year, however...yeah. Today is the beginning of the next heat wave...Deely wrote:Yikes Felix! I was telling DH that in PA we didn't have air conditioning in our homes (maybe a window unit in the BR) or in our cars. They did lower the expected temperature, though! A couple of days ago they were saying 100 on Thursday and no lower than 95 for several days after that!
