The armoire? No, they never emailed me back! So irritated. I did get my pub table for the kitchen though! Love it.
Well, you got one at least. Sorry about the armoir. I hate when people don't email back.

Hey all,

I have a boat load of fiddle heads and a bunch of asparagus to use up. Any ideas?

I'm thinking steamed or grilled catfish, sauted fiddle heads, steamed or grilled asparagus and maybe a baked potato. Sounds pretty blah, but I'm not sure what else to do.

Oh ya....as always, a garden salad on the side

I'm making some homemade chicken and noodle soup today even though it is 100 degrees outside. DH has got a very bad sinus infection and wants soup.

Elsie, I don't mind soup when it is hot out. I love it year round. I made lentil soup today. I enjoy having a small bowl of soup vs a heavy sandwich; and for dinner I love to make a salad to go with soup. That is a perfect light dinner for me. Sinus infection or not!

I think it sounds great.

Axe ... fiddle heads I love just sauteed with a light vinaigrette
This is a nice site for them http://www.wild-harvest.com/pages/fiddlehead.htm
This has some nice easy recipes

Asparagus sounds good, I love roasted or grilled.
Maybe saute the catfish or fry it, not fond of it steamed. Maybe a light tomato sauce which would go well with the asparagus and fiddles.
Bergy cooks catfish often.

There are quite a few here which would be really good.

FYI, the fiddles or asparagus would be delicious in the salad too.

I'm jealous of the fiddles, so good

Sushi was closed for the holiday weekend yesterday, so I ended up with a corned beef Reuben at another place. Meh.

Today, I don't know. We went out for lunch fairly late, so we'll probably end up doing the fend for yourself method. I wasn't planning on cooking when I made the grocery list.

Morning All
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

BBQ at a friends this afternoon.
I'm taking a Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce and a grilled potato salad. They will have all the typical BBQ fare.

I'm taking over a pot of pulled pork and coleslaw to the ladies I cook for. They also have a BBQ party in their neighborhood.

I was hoping for some rain from the tropical storm, but only one little light rain last night; and it doesn't look hopeful for any today

Whatever everyone's plans are; I hope they have a HAPPY AND SAFE MEMORIAL DAY

It's only noon, and it's already 90F with a heat index of 94F. Chance of thunderstorms today, but currently bright sunshine. I'm making Creamy Balsamic Baked Chicken (a recipe I got a hundred years ago from F.com) with some kind of broccoli salad on the side.

The plan is to BBQ for lunch since my hubby leaves at 3pm to catch a plane. We are having balsamic beef burgers, potato salad, garlic marinated mushrooms, corn on the cob with cilantro butter, and homemade hamburger buns.

Happy Memorial to all the USA members.

Very hot here just about to reach 100F. Still no rain & we really need it. Felix, I can't think about turning the oven on.

Church, Dd arrives Wed. & will be here for my birthday. She is here on business so there will be work. Then she returns at the end of June on business but will stay longer. It has to do with others being on vacation.

I have just been working on my yard, getting Dd's apartment in guest shape & my menu for Dd & friends.

 I decided it just doesn't matter any more if I add more heat. It still hasn't rained, but we're sitting at 95F with about 80% humidity. They're calling it a 60% chance of rain tonight, but we'll see. Looks like everything on radar is going to be well north of us again. Hopefully you'll see some of it!

I'm apparently creating my own broccoli salad tonight, since all of my recipes require ingredients I simply do not own. If it doesn't suck, I'll post it later. :D
