I don't have any special sweetheart to do something special for but I do have some recipes that others may like to test on their SO - so you will see me around here Bea - Lovely post. - Makes me wish that I did have that special someone.

It is nice to have a special someone on Valentine's day to celebrate with, but, things don't always work out that way, even when you have a special someone. DH and I are opposite shifts for the first two weeks of February, our anniversary is on the 8th, so we will celebrate both on another day.... Soooooooo, I do need ideas and recipes and photos to help me make this dinner a special one.

Here's a begining , Don's favourite sweet is butter tarts and i haven't made them in years, got lazy and bought them, so I'll surprize him for Valentine's day and make them

I know we will have a steak and his most favourite veggies - plain ole "boiled carrots and celery, buttered", and some smashed potatoes, we both love those potatoes and i am sure i have seen a recipe here on zazz i can use instead of my old recipe.

Awww I remember those years when Don was in the Navy and away usually in February, we had long distance celebrations

But sure made up for them later

as I'm sure you will Bea

and Bergy you are sooo special , you are my Valentine too

QB check out the Holiday forum. We have a Valentines thread posted and LBK, has posted a HUGE list of recipes. Everything from main dishes to sides and desserts, and some very good tips and ideas as well.

NO SO here, just my son, who could care less about food or anything special and my kitties.

My son, I make homemade ice cream sammies. I a simple chocolate cookie and cut it in a heart shape. Then I use a store bought vanilla, but I soften it and add toasted . nuts, mini chocolate chips and some caramel and flavored liquor. Then I make the sammies. He loves them.

Also, my kitties will have fresh tuna, steamed (their favorite) and chicken also poached. They aren't a huge shrimp or beef fan, but they love poached chicken and tuna. Also, they will have kitty milk and I melt a little cheese over the chicken which they go nuts over.

They get that on special holidays, birthdays, etc.
