Mail Birthday Treat
Post
by Duck-Duck » Tue Mar 22, 2016 11:01 am
While I like receiving gift cards, I don't like giving them - especially when it seems like an "out". :O

True! I'll be using one of those prepaid post office boxes so weight doesn't matter, but it can't be too high. I was thinking something like those magic bars(?), but easier. 'Definitely not stuck on that idea; just one I had. Coconut the receiver likes, but also isn't a "have to."
I'd rather spend my time than money - if ya know where I'm going & I think you do. ;)
Thanks, All!

So your wanting to send a food item in the mail, I myself would not send anything that is food related through the mail, could melt or get broken, best way is to order through a company that way you make sure it gets there in one piece ;)

True, but money is a big factor. I have to choose wisely. for Christmas though, I'm going in that direction - when prices are reduced & shipping is free. Woo-hoo! ;D

Yeah, they're pretty tough.

Do you have a suggestion for a recipe? I have great butter cookie & shortbread recipes, but not sugar. Thanks FloJo9!

Hi duck! Here is my recipe for sugar cookies, be aware that they are not hard to make but time consuming, if your short on time, I would suggest going to a bakery and purchasing some with birthday greetings on them, and yes they do travel well as long as you layer then with waxed paper in between....

If you can eat, you can make it!

I was also going to suggest hard cookies, basically anything very firm like brownies, candies anything that would not break or spoil while shipping ;)

I agree; soft desserts or bars can not do well.
I like the idea of sugar cookies, chocolate chips; a bit heartier; even, peanut butter too.
NO chocolate (well icing); they can melt. A chewy brownie is good.
How about a homemade granola fruit bar.
There are quite a few NO bake cookies that have oatmeal in them; but, sometimes just a few chips. Nothing too chocolately that would melt.
Shortbread I agree too would be nice.

Other than what's already suggested I can't really think of anything else, but if I do I will be back here to post my ideas ;)

You're all so nice!

That idea of birthday greetings on sugar cookies is fabulous! 'Haven't seen that before ... Ohhhh, on a big cookie! Cute still!
Thanks! You keep thinking, Chaz! ;)
