Prayers Please

Post by racrgal » Wed Jun 19, 2013 7:04 pm

I would never make this request for myself but my 2 year old "grandson" has been diagnosed with water on the brain and a tumor. My heart is breaking for him and his family. Please, please, please pray for this adorable little fellow.

Oh Racr! I am so sorry about your grandson. I believe I remember you posting when he was born.

What are the plans to treat the baby? Are they putting in a shunt? Sorry not trying to get in your business, but concerned. I know someone who had this as a baby and they are fine now. Very productive adult. Please hang in there and keep us updated how he is doing.

I will definitely say prayers for you and your family.

Thank you everyone!!! The little feller will be 2 on the 29th of this month. The short version of the situation is;
Doc did MRI because A's head is too large for his body and his speech is developing slowly.
MRI showed fluid and a brain tumor.
Doc said "he needs to see a neurologist" and would not give any further details of what the MRI showed.
Doc won't refer to a neurologist because the family doesn't have insurance.
Children's hospitals won't take him without a referral. Which makes sense because they need to know what they are going to treat.
Right now the search is on for a neurologist who will agree to see A even without insurance.
Dad lost his job about a month ago so the chance of any doctors getting paid is slim to none.
Late this afternoon I suggested Mom call the Children's Defense Fund-California. They are looking for a neurologist who will agree to see A. I THINK after he sees a neurologist he can be referred to a hospital.

That doesn't seem like the "short version" but it really is. Thanks again for all of your prayers!!!

DUH! I just noticed I put this in the wrong darned place. Admin, feel free to move to a more appropriate forum. I had a mental pause.

Call 1-877 KIDS NOW (1-877-543-7669) to talk to someone in California. This is for Medi-Cali and CHIP. They might know how to get help if they can't help. Good luck. Not being referred to a DR because you don't have insurance is a crock!
