Separating an egg yolk/egg white!!!!

Post by Bobbie » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:30 pm

I received this from a friend and wanted to share. I haven't tried it YET -- but I will . . .

The language in the video link below is Chinese.
Ignore the language and just watch the demonstration!!

Watch the simple and effective method of separating an egg yolk from the white.
It is a simple and straight forward application of hydraulics.

I just received this video too Bobbie - What a great idea. Not sure the language is Chinese but itdoesn't matter you don't need to follow the words the demo says it all.

 I have no idea if it's Chinese either -- but the person who sent it to me said that's what it was.

It's an interesting idea, but I think it's more useful as a children's experiment than a practical method for separating eggs. I'll stick to the half shell to half shell method.

I'll just toss from shell to shell, or use my hand. I'll be damned if I'm going to go out and buy a bottle of soda that I don't drink for this kind of thing!

Marion, I didn't intend for anyone to buy a soda (it's actually a bottle of bottled water) to do this. It was merely something I saw, that I thought was pretty neat and wanted to share. Your post was pretty strong.

OMG - what a coincidence. I was making some cakes today and DH asked me to let him know when I was ready to crack the eggs. Well...he was so proud of himself that he knew something about cooking that I didn't know - LOL!

And no we didn't go out and buy a soda just for the bottle - we used one we had on hand. I'll continue to use my old fashioned method of tossing the egg back and forth between the two cracked half shells, but this was pretty clever and kudos to whoever thought of it.

Gee Whiz - this isn't mandatory.
