How is everyone feeling?

Post by MichPom » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:29 am

Hi... I hope you all are having a wonderufl day. I came down with a cold, not a bad cold, but one where I had a terrible itching feeling in my throat. I was not sneezing much. But it left me with laryingitis, to where I have zero, zip.. no voice at all. I never lost my voice before, how long will I be totally speechless? SO far, I lost it about18 hours, and nothing is coming back yet. Not fun. I am happy for texting! lol

How are all of you feeling?

I hope you start feeling better very soon!

There have been a few times this season where I've thought that I was going to come down with something but nothing came on full blown. About a month ago I felt really run down for a few days so I took care of myself, going to bed right after dinner, getting nearly 12 hours of sleep those days. After 3 nights of that I felt better. A few other times my throat has felt scratchy and a bit sore but after a day or two I felt fine again.

*knock on wood* I hope that my health will continue this year. When I get sick I get REALLY sick. This past February I couldn't get out of bed for over a week before my hubby put his foot down and drove me to the doctor. Two years prior I was sick on two seperate occassions. Both for over a week and within a months time of each other. So, for now, I am thankful for my health!

Edited to add that I had laryingites a few years ago and I couldn't speak for probaby 4 days!

I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. My husband calls times when I don't have a voice or not enough of a voice to talk "Advantage Tom".
He knows that he can say anything and I won't be able to make a response. I hope that you get your voice back soon.

Thanks Laury, it surprises me how everyone still asks me questions. I need to get a pen and pad to respond now. Yipee........not!

Aww, Sorry you're feeling poorly MichPom. I agree with Ninya...A hot cup of tea with honey and whiskey can't hurt. ;)

MichPom, I understand what you mean about being asked questions when you can barely talk. I have had to call the complex manager several times to report alarms going off. Once she kept telling me to speak up and I didn't have enough breath to speak up. I ended up calling my husband at work, telling him which alarm was going off and he had to get hold of the complex manager. He reminded her that I was doing part of her work in reporting the alarm, and next time she should listen up because I can't speak up.

I have tried so many things, from apple cider vinegar, toddy's, warm salt water, honey, Vicks, olive leaf extract and a few morew things. I guess it is going to take it's good old time leaving.
