~Christmas Chat~
How is the Christmas List going? Have you started shopping? Or, maybe you are done shopping and started wrapping? And what about Holiday Baking, do you have a head start on that or have you begun stockpiling the multitude of ingredients? Have you decorated your homestead, or, is it like mine and no sign of Christmas YET?!
Me...I am officially, as of today, DONE with shopping. I am waiting for a few more things to be delivered, and then the wrapping begins, although I LOVE to wrap! I put on some Christmas tunes, make a nice cuppa coffee or Hot Chocolate, and wrap away!
The Baking, I have begun my list of ingredients needed, and will go within the next week or 2. This year I have really downsized how much I will be baking so there is a reprieve with that, I think I have "just enough" recipes to be happy, but not feel overwhelmed.
We have an artificial tree (bah blick!) but am talking to Hubby about getting a real one, for the deck and our Fine Feathered Friends outdoors. I love to wake early in the morn, and see a tree out on a deck, lit with white lights and a softly falling snow...
So, where are you at with it all, I would LOVE to hear, read, and therapy scream with ya, if thats what is needed!!!
Re: ~Christmas Chat~
I don't have a clue what I'm doing as far as baking is concerned.
We too have an artificial tree. Years ago I insisted on a real tree every year and then my daughter & I would go around sneezing and wheezing for two weeks. So I finally gave up and bought a fake tree. My grandson has allergies too so a real one just isn't going to happen again.
I do have my Christmas dinner menu planned. And on Christmas Eve we make a bunch of appetizers and just graze all evening.
Re: ~Christmas Chat~
Last year, Hubby and I had a Siberian Spruce tree dug up, and we had no idea how very heavy that would be

What is your Christmas Menu looking like? I Love having nibbles/appetizers on Christmas Eve, its so relaxed.

I'll post pics of inside later. My Cmas is easy this year. All gift cards as everyone is out of state. Giving DH a new iphone, that will be easy.
Holiday baking? Nope, just us two and I'm not baking for the dealership this year. Other than getting online and sending out gift cards and picking up groceries here and there, I am done. I tried to get done early this year so I can just kick back and enjoy the season.
Re: ~Christmas Chat~
We will be having Prime Rib, garlic mashed potatoes, tons of gravy, creamed spinach or asparagus, popovers, a fancy green salad and rolls. Pecan pie and one other kind, ice cream, whipped cream.MaMere wrote:It sounds like you have everything under control, Donna! Makes for being able to better enjoy the time.

We have about 5000 pine trees in our yard I guess we could just decorate one close to the house!
Re: ~Christmas Chat~
Donna, we are having Prime Rib at some point too, I was hoping for Christmas Eve, but plans have already changed for that day.
Sissy, PLENTY of time to catch up on your things to do list, take moments for your lists, and You'll feel MUCH better!

NICE!Denise wrote:I am going to guess we're going to have beef tenderloin, salad, potatoes and the works - unless the weather is super nice - I've heard it can easily be 75 here on Cmas - if that is the case, we are grillin', baby!
