Clicks are in.

A blanket of snow during the night sees everything looking fresh and clean but forecast says we are into roller coaster weather with winter taking over the prairies. I hear the snow plows so likely more snow in the open areas. A good time to enjoy the seed catalogues I didn't get to yesterday and think to warm and sunny as well as cheer on our Saskatchewan Curling team who made it to the semi finials.

We got 6 inches of snow yesterday...so was out shoveling twice during the day (pathways for pooches). And my friend came down and plowed the long driveway and open spaces. The second time I went out it was RAINING! So that made the shoveling all that more heavy! Did manage to bring in some wood.

Clicks were in this morning.

Been one of those days where it is good to be indoors, we are in an extreme cold warning but not all that surprising for January in Saskatchewan. Also not surprising when we have severe weather changes my joints give forewarning making for a bit of a slowdown. Don't think the week will see a start to the planned winter projects. Meanwhile tell myself how fortunate to be able to up the heat and be nice and warm.

In my mailbox, not quite a quote but certainly makes for a great start to a new year, especially when it's cold and blustery out there.

"This is the time of year for rest and rejuvenation, for contemplation and planning"

Clocks are in.

We are no longer in the red extreme cold warning this morning but seems that could change, in any case it's cold. Not sure the 'ten extra things' are going to happen today, might well be the many necessities that are the 'have to be done' or may be a good time to think to some of that "rest and rejuvenation, for contemplation and planning" time! Will see how the day unfolds.

Thinking of you shoveling in both snow and rain makes me shiver thinking to how heavy wet snow is and happy the grans popped over and insisted on doing the walkways this weekend! For most part I am following through on the 'no snow shoveling and no ladders rule that has been in place for sometime now.

Clicks in early this morning.

Another cold January day went by all too quickly, it's feed all the babies, an easy evening meal ready to go then look to a quiet evening to watch the Grand Slam curling event that started at Guelph Ontario today. Will try to watch our curlers from the prairies and read the book I got started on last night. A 'me night'!

Surprisingly warmed to 0 feels like minus 7, once again babies were up super early. Could that mean I am ahead of it and should watch the seven o'clock Saskatchewan Curling game, I am taking that as a yes even if I only have two of the ten extras going for me this morning!

But not posted...yet again!!!

Good to see you taking care of YOU, Gerry! There is nothing quite like self care! It is something that as we get older...we need to do!!

A chillier morning and one that once again started too early. Today will glean a few vegetarian recipes for tomorrows lunch for a vegetarian friend. Thinking to pasta and caesar salad or a green salad with the great tasting Cider Honey and Garlic Vinaigrette I made yesterday. And of course the Feather Bread.

Your Steve Maraboli quote is right on Patti.

Off to town this morning...sorry it is last minute. So will not be calling this morning.

Love your quote that is so us! :-) OMW...when I was a child my Mom always told us when we needed a hand...look at the end of your arm! So...this following quote is an homage to my Mom! She never said the second sentence...I figured that out on my own. lol

“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” Sam Levenson

Clicks are in. I enjoyed the follow up, have to love the kitten growing up thinking she is a dog.

Supposed to see to a Zoey groom today but noted weather wise we are in the red with a blowing snow warning. That does not fare well for country roads, will see how that plays out. Hope your trip to town went well Patti, your mom's quote one I have thought to many a time!

"Kindness is spreading sunshine into people's lives regardless of the weather"
