Off to make perogies this morning. There are 3 of us doing it together. I am making our favourite...dry cottage cheese with green onions with caramelized onions on top. I do not know what kind the other ladies will be making. Probably potato based I am guessing.

Been clicking.
That was one lot of perogies Patti, maybe time I make some for the holidays. Your quote had me thinking to ”Charlotte Brontë's "Jane Eyre" one of the first of the classics I read back in grade six and remains one of my favorites.
This one made for a smile, I can always count on Mark Twain!

Another heavy storm this one not as much wind but dumped from 8 to 12 inches of snow last night. When I got the drive way done - again- he said this weekend moved more snow than all of last winter! One whole lot piled up. Amazed to see a robin back in the Lilac tree! I did a double take
My heart goes out to those who are out on the streets as well all the animals out on their own.

I hope all is going well your way Patti and you are staying safe and warm. There is no doubt winter is upon on us here in Saskatchewan, the snow seems to have cleared off but the cold has settled in - minus 22 with a feels like minus 31 out there. Adding prayers for all who are out in those cold temps, that everyone extends a helping hand when they see the need.
Will be working on my garage plants later today to spend extra kitty time. Got little kitty back in the catio, seeing kitty was crying I decided to have her/him see the catio as a feeding station and safe zone so when I bring her in it's her happy place while adjusting to the other babies. Hopefully with help that will be soon. She is so pretty and sweet.
This morning this quote had me acknowledge that amid all the unexpected all we can do is do the best we can.

Admittedly yesterday morning surrounded by days of heavy snow that shut down the highways and a feels like minus 31 temps my heart was heavy being five days since we had sightings of my beautiful little momma rescue.
Having adopted one of her babies out, the following morning she got out we assume to look for her baby. I put food out, deck light on but missed who did eat just before midnight. We suspect that the days of snow had her trapped somewhere. Awesome and supportive neighbors helped in the search.
Yesterday seeing tracks gave hope, at least knew someone had made it through the brutal night, early evening neighbor brought a tin of herring and set up camera and trap - shortly after looked out and there she was! Unreal after all those days in cold and heavy snow. Patted her, picked her up and took her to the warm garage. Baby super happy, momma drank more water than I have ever seen any animal drink. Next project get them comfortable with the catio and then introduce them to our
household. Have to wonder how that will go.

Feels like minus 36 out there, the furbabies have plenty of food water so will wait til it warms before I go out there. Hope all is well at your house Patti.

The upcoming American Thanksgiving had me thinking turkey, am about to make the dressing and roast the extra turkey from our Thanksgiving making today a surprise 'share meals' day for daughter and grans. The rest will be packaged then repackaged with the food saver for future meals and for the babies. That Cabela food saver is worth it's weight in gold! Grocery delivery today will see to fresh salad makings. While warmer today at minus 13 feels like minus 22 but then its back to dipping temps. I am feeling the cold!
These past five days once again has me know in our deeply troubled world how reassuring knowing that good caring people are still among us. Sweet little momma is home safe and warm and didn't so much as look at the door no doubt safe and warm trumps heavy snow and freezing temperatures. Momma so loving and the baby is ecstatic!
Along with clicking keeping the babies safe and warm and well fed. In all fairness will continue to try finding a young family for the baby after indoor time. Love knowing we have plenty of caring people among us.

Momma she is smaller than the pic shows, her ear almost healed and no longer noticeable.
One of the babies looking unsure of my neighbour as he took pics, first time ever for me identical babies! Photo does not do justice to the beautiful markings and her happy face! As you can see the long fall was seeing the spring weeds looking to grow! Nothing green out there today!
