I agree, it is so good; and basically not too unhealthy other than what you put on it. Now, the beans are carbs, but hey, you are only eating a bowl. Using lean meat, low salt tomatoes and vegetables ... that isn't all that bad. I do love it. White chili is the plan this week.

I remember back in the 80s, we were great friends with all of the neighbors in our section of the building. One of them said he'd make chili for everybody. So we waited with great anticipation.
And what he made was a very thin, tomatoey soup with chickpeas, corn, and not a chili--not even a bell pepper--anywhere in the neighborhood.
I thought the neighbor from California was going to lynch him!

I do like a bit of liquid, but, not soupy by any means. Now I have added corn to my black bean chili, but, it still has tons of meat, beans and peppers. I have had chili too from a friend who, I think salt and pepper was their spice. YUCK

On a low carb diet, beans are one of the carbs you can eat, since the vitamin & fiber content far outweigh the carb count

MaMere, I agree with you. If he wants to make food that is spicier than usual, we better have some chocolate. I take a ton and a half of medicine and my stomach gets very upset if the last thing I eat for the day is spicy.
