Hi HP, or do we call you 'Hot' now for short? :D Can't call you Jelly! I'm here. Trying to get recipes posted too.

I'm here, as is the same gang from Kitten's but boy! is it slow on this board! WHERE the heck is the flood of members and postings???? :( Pretty soon, I'm going to have to get the dust cloth out, to dust off my forums! LOL

I'm still receiving notices from the old board but am deactivating them, as they come in. No one's posting over there, hardly anyone's posting over here....what's a forum host to do? ~sigh~

Hang in there Sweedie. It's taking me time to find my way around, but things seem to be picking up a bit.

The layout here is visually pleasing and easy to navigate, but it does look different and sometimes the names of things are new; for example, instead of "general discussion," we have Zazz Chat. To find it, I spent forever (it seemed) scrolling to the very bottom of the board index on the forum page. It used to be at the top -- almost the first thing to see at the Kitchen forum.

In addition, everyone seems to be posting recipes when they are online instead of chatting (or even trying the recipes I'm guessing, since there are few reviews). And the Help and Suggestions forums have had regular postings.

I think we just need some time to settle in.

Thanks, Mary. You're the Voice of Reason. :D I just miss, terribly so, the high activity that Zaar used to have. I'm hoping that Zazz becomes at least 1/2 as busy as old Zaar used to be.

I mentioned this in Suggestions, in K.C.'s thread, but one thing that I find bothersome about this site is that the forums DO NOT LIST the most recent thread that someone's posting in; it simply lists a new post. So, you have to waste time, to go into that forum, look for the most recent post and then decide if it's even a thread you have any interest in reading. It currently makes me not want to go into a forum I don't host, because I can't waste time clicking on each forum to see WHICH thread is active. At Kitten's, if someone posted in a thread called, "What is your favourite HOT SAUCE?", I'd know that wasn't for me. But, at least I had the option, of a quick look at the board posting notice, that I didn't need to go any further.

And if it makes you feel any better, I couldn't figure out what "General Discussion" was on this board, either! At first, I thought it was the Tea Room and then slowly saw that it might be THIS forum.

Oh well, it is what it is, and it's a lovely website. "If Kitten builds it, they will come...eventually!" :D

Oh, Kitten, don't feel badly. I'm not knocking the site! I just thought it would be very busy, based on the fact that the site crashed when it first opened, that's all. That's what I was basing the hoped for activity level, that's all.

I love the site! I love the site! I love the site!

Just wish that some of the new members were posting in forums. I just see the same regular member's posting that used to post at the old site.

Wanted to add: I didn't know that the most recent threads were posted on a Home page. I just keep a window open to the forums. I remember that on the main page of the old website, the most current threads posted to were at the bottom of the page. Now, it looks like I'll have to go back to the Home page, to find out what the most recent threads posted into are located. But, thanks for that tip, Kitten. I'll try that avenue. :D

you know as well as I do that only a small handful of members choose to post in the forums, the large majority come for only recipes and we will have a ton in no time! we are new and only a week old we already have almost 700 members and growing everyday, Rome wasn't built ;)

I can understand why us forum hosts are a little discouraged by the lack of involvement, (I'm one), but as Carol stated...it's going to take time. Patience is going to be key in the coming months. The ones that are here now are the ones that were the faithful members to KK's. More will come...I can almost guarantee it.

This morning I am not seeing the "view posts since your last visit" (maybe not the exact wording) link on the Board Index. I found this the easiest way to keep up with the forums, so I sure hope it comes back.

Editing: It's there again now, maybe just a glitch, or maybe I wasn't seeing things :)
