Generally you want to avoid anything in glass bottles, and food things that melt, but that is still possible.

Not sure if this is great for a birthday but Asian food noodles is good to send because there are lots of dried and packaged items that are unique. People can often get most of those things in the supermarket in Japan, but send your favourite caramels, candies etc. but the idea of birthday sugar cookies with written greetings on this is the best idea!

Cupcake33, Asian food in the mail?!? Put me down! :D Now, who can I get to send it to me ... think, think, think ... :D 'Really is a good idea & very unique, too! Thanks! I tend to go out on a limb for gifts - meaning, I'll take the chance you won't like it, but if you do, you really do. :D

DanD, Perhaps! :D 'Kinda hard to find those fruits this time of year - at least here in Georgia. Good idea though! Thank you!

KitchenMagician, You keep thinking! Hee-hee! Thanks for stopping in! :)

I'm just passing through to check out the ideas here and some goods one at that :) I would say the best idea here is make or purchase plain sugar cookies or one huge one and write some happy birthdays lettering on them :D

Homemade ginger snaps also good. They hold up good; and you can write on them too. Just another option.
