Need help with my Grain Master electric mill

Post by TwoSocks » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:14 pm

I have been given a Grain Master Whisper Mill model 2000 by my Mother for grinding my own wheat into flour. I was not given an instruction manual and need to make certain that I am grinding my wheat as finely as the machine can grind it. The dial that controls this setting uses symbols of various sizes, not words, and while logic says that the smallest symbol is the finest grind, I want to make sure. If anyone owns one of these machines and can ched some light on my dilema, I would much appreciate it.

Here's a link to a video that I think is the mill you are talking about http://www.kitchenfinity.com/grain-mill ... ll-review/. Perhaps it will help you - sounds like the coarsest setting is to the far right on the control, so the finest would be on the furthest setting to the left. You should be able to tell by the results - I would try it where you think it should be coarser and then turn it the other way.

I don't think there is a huge difference in the grind on these mills but I haven't used one. i have a Tribest and at the coarsest setting it will put the grain through almost whole and adjusts to a very fine flour.
