love quick breads to have in the freezer, and am doing a recipebook too, I'll be looking here for recipes to add to my collection
This made up beautifully, it's a wow not a crumb left over! Will be making another soon - one I can't wait to serve to my family and friends.

Have your Biscuit recipe printed GW , looking forward to giving them a go. After going over the instructions a couple of times I decided they aren't all that difficult to make! And I'm betting they are going to impress! :D
Will definitely try this when my family is here for Christmas . . . wonder if crazins could be substituted?

I do lots of muffins, as I work at a school. And we do muffins about once a week. I usually make about 5 dozen at a time. I do my best to keep them different every time. I keep on hand a low-fat cholesterol-free muffin mix for days when I am lazy. When I do make them from scratch I use anywhere between 50% to 100% whole wheat flour.

At home I have been baking more muffins, quick breads than normal because my son is off to highschool and now has to pack his own lunch. So I keep a variety here too. This week's baked good in Banana Cupcakes. Last week it was Oatmeal Craisin White Chocolate Chip Cookies from the Craisin bag. I have even made Zucchini Muffins, pumpkin bread, muffins, cookies. Pear Bread.

A suggestion of too many bananas, yesterday I dehydrated some over-ripe bananas. I picked these ones up at the school, we have a smaller student population so we always have leftover bananas, as they won't keep any longer. I give them out to the kids or staff. I was wondering what to do with them, they were bound for the freezer when my mind wandered to the pears I had too and I knew I was going to dry those, and it dawned on me to dry the bananas too. They turned out very sweet compared to store-bought banana chips. I did nothing special to them, just sliced and put them on the trays. The only ones that were darker were the last ones out of the dehydrator but it was because I was too busy canning to check them earlier.

I've had my eye on a dehydrator . . .love banana chips, so think I should take the leap,or maybe put it on my Christmas list!

You are the muffin queen with all those . . . what is your favorite brand of mixes? I like Krusteaz, had great luck with their cornbread have recipe posted that uses the mix plus mesquite syrup. Also love their orange cranberry muffins.

How about savory muffins . . . not sure this even qualifies as a muffin, but for Thanksgiving it's just the two of us so I'm making Stuffin Muffins . . . using my cornbread dressing recipe and baking them in muffin tin.

I love having my dehydrator, hubby was asking me this summer if there was anything I wouldn't dehydrate after I put a watermelon in there.

I can only Robin Hood muffin mix where I work, so that is the kind I use. I buy it in a 10 kg bag. I keep on hand canned pumpkin, chocolate chips, frozen bananas, frozen diced apple and pears (leftovers from the food program), oatmeal, spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg), frozen blueberries, white chocolate chips (resent addition to my stash), frozen plums and apricots (both donated to the school by staff).

I have never done a savory muffin, should try one day. I keep wanting to try a pizza muffin or lunch box (with cheese and broccoli). But worry the kids would turn up their noses at it, then I would have to hear a co-worker complain about the kids not liking it. One of my co-workers bought some stuffing muffins in last week, they did look very yummy.

Great idea about lunch muffins. We recently moved down here to Tucosn and our neighborhood ladies have a once a month luncheon. We decided at the last one that we'd do a brown bag lunch . . . everyone bring a lunch, and then we'd put the bags on a table, and each would pick a lunch, just not their own. Could be lots of fun! I got the idea from the Gourmet Club we recently joined! I'll do a little research and see what I can find!

That does look good! 8-)

I just came here to cast my vote for Quick Breads, Muffins & Biscuits being set up as a separate board...because they're some of my favorite things to bake (there's an entire section of my printed cookbook devoted to them). :D

I've been campaigning for a separate board, but right now it's not a top priority . . . they want to get some of the other features on the site rolled out before making any changes, hopefully after the first of the year. In the meantime, the more we use it the better our case!!! ;)
