If you haven't heard of or tried Chayote it is a squash & looks like a green pear. It is very popular in Mexico.

Chayote & Onions
This is a photo from the internet of Chayote Squash. You peel it and remove the pit. It is quite bland and needs something like onions along with it. Like zucchini do not over cook it.

Thanks Manadoo. They don't seem to be popular here and I rarely see them. I always pick one up when they do get here. I wouldn't rave about them but they are a nice change

Looks great Bergy... never heard of Chayote squash.
We have a local seed grower that has all different types of seeds......
and they have a lot ...but not them.... but in my search have found a few things to plant.....
