My Italian Burger

Post by Kchurchill5 » Mon Aug 04, 2014 8:04 am

Well, I saw a pic of Bergy's Italian burger, and another Italian burger; but, I didn't have all the right ingredients - and, was too lazy to go to the store.
So, I used a combo of a recipe I made before; using up what I had on hand.
Normally, I serve this open face; but, I skipped the salad and used the whole bun.

My burgers made with Lipton onion soup (dry mix), worcestershire and jalapenos.
Onions, red/green peppers, sauteed in olive oil w/white wine and Italian seasoning.
Fresh mozzarella; and a mushroom marinara.
On top a garlic olive oil toasted ciabatta roll.

The composition and angle of the last photo is making me hungry. I feel like I could just grab that burger. Lovely!

Looks yummy. Almost like a cross between the peppers and onions piled high on salsiccia and the giardiniera on an Italian beef.
Best of both worlds. :)

It really is a mix; I have done a similar one; I saw Bergy's with the sausage; but after an inventory of the fridge ... and didn't want to go out AGAIN. I used what I had. I was happy.

For just me; it is hard to justify going out out to buy just one thing; so ... use what there is.

I got a huge deal on ground beef about 2 months ago (bogo family packs). I made 4-5 burgers (onion) and froze those; sauteed about 1/2 lb; and, 3 mini meatloafs; and the rest raw. I think I am set for a while.
