New USAD recommendations for pork cooking

Post by TheDabblers » Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:22 pm

G'day all!

For those who have not noticed the USDA announced in May, 2011, that it was changing the recommendations for cooking pork to the same as other meats like beef.

Goodbye over cooked pork roasts! The US has now joined the rest of world in delighting in pink roasted pork! :D It appears that the threat from trichinosis is now trivial.

Regards, John

PS: I deliberately did not show URL for website. This is the sort of issue you should check for yourself and not rely on others. :)

If you want to check it out, this is straight from the USDA.

G'day!

So has the rest of the world Kittencal but the again you are Canadian and knew better than those southerns. ;)

Thanks for that Mary. I think I was slightly spooked by the prospect of someone doing something stupid and reaching for their lawyer - it does happen.

And a Happy Christmas to you and yours and may the new year bring you health and prosperity.

Many regards, John :D
