Soups I love them. Pureed are even better ways to hide vegetables. A creamy corn soup is delicious, I think most kids like corn.
I make a creamy healthy potato soup that is mostly broth, but, it does have carrots. It pureed and mixed with milk. It's creamy light and delicious.
You can also grate zucchini and add it to potato soup. If it is pureed, you won't see or taste the zucchini.
I like to add vegetables to every day food like meatballs. You can puree sauteed carrots, zucchini, even peppers, celery, mushrooms, and onion; then, mix into the meatballs or spaghetti sauce. You can even do that with a hamburger.
Mac and cheese; add pureed cauliflower, broth, and cheese vs heavy cream or milk sauce.
Add pureed veggies to a tomato sauce.
Cauliflower mixed with mashed potatoes cut down on the fat.
Peas pureed added to mashed potatoes. Green spuds; my son loved them.
Pureed carrots you can sweeten up with a little maple syrup.
Pizza mini pizzas on pita bread a quick and easy; and, an easy to sweet in a few veggies.
Dips are great with carrots and celery, if he likes those; make your own using yogurt; rather then a store bought dressings.
The biggest things for kids to loose weight, is to avoid sodas, junk food; eat more fruit. Avoid snacking on unhealthy stuff.
Nutella and apple slices are a great sweet treat.
Celery, stuffed with peanut butter
Frozen grapes are a fun snack
Bananas frozen, dipped in chocolate. Cut in small pieces and freeze in baggies. A nice snack food for after school.
Smoothies, I know those were mentioned; great idea to add more fruit and veggies.You can enjoy chocolate, and still sneak in vegetables. Fruit juices too if you have a juicer.

Pasta ... Ravioli. I often make a butternut squash ravioli. Yes, pasta and cheese; but, it is rich; so, a little goes a long way. Rather than a heavy sauce, you can make a simple broth. The cheese and squash are seasoned with some good spice; so, it doesn't even taste like squash.
If your son likes ketchup with fries, etc ... make your own. Store bought has TONS of sugar; and, homemade lasts a while in the fridge.
A simple change; if they like bread, burgers, etc; try buying not the regular bread; but, going to the bakery in your store, and having a loaf THIN sliced. Still basic bread, but less of it. Even Walmart and Targets do this. It's just an easy way to cut out a few calories.
Ice cream, or frozen yogurt balls are a nice treat. Let frozen yogurt soften; and, mix with chocolate chips, nuts, peanut butter chips, dried fruit, even some candy pieces chopped up. Freeze again; then, scoop (using a small scoop), and roll in more nuts, coconut, even dip in chocolate.
Now, this isn't exactly healthy; but, they are small sweet treats; especially if you use frozen yogurt, dried fruit etc. And, they are portion controlled.
NOT, veggies, but a healthier snack; especially if someone wants something sweet. My son used to love these.
Yogurt, dried fruit, and nuts is way healthier than chips.
Applesauce, zucchini, even black beans can all be added to baked goods too.
