What is the CCHO Diet?

Post by QueenBea » Wed May 03, 2023 7:14 pm

The idea behind the CCHO diet is to monitor and program your carbohydrate consumption so you have fewer spikes or dips. The focus of the diet is to eat the same amount of carbohydrates every day. This helps keep your blood sugar, or glucose, levels stable.

Meals are basically like those found on a regular menu, but carbohydrate servings are carefully controlled and small snacks may be included in the meal plan. Carbohydrates are starches, starchy vegetables, juice, fruit, milk, and sugars.

That sounds like how Type 1 diabetics were told to eat way back in the day. The same amount of carbs at the same time every day. Because the insulin wasn't as advanced yet.
