This recipe has been looking pretty good to me, I have an orange cake recipe around some where that my mother in law would make. when i find it i will post the recipe, but i'm think that the one below is pretty close:

I really appreciate all the help in this thread - I am sure that whichever version I end up making it will be really yummy. I love citrusy cakes!

Yes, I use orange zest in every different type of frosting for a nice orange flavor. But I don't think it was mentioned, that if you want an extra strong orange flavor, the magic ingredient is using frozen defrosted orange juice concentrate. ;)
