You would not believe how crazy our trip was! 2400 miles one way in 4 days. We left on Tuesday 2 weeks ago and arrived in Tucson, AZ that Friday. MIL was released from the hospital the next day after we arrived. We took a day to relax and then headed back last Sunday. Sunday we traveled through Arizona, New Mexico and part of Texas. We decided to do the 2400 return trip in 5 days. So Sunday after leaving Tucson we parked our motorhome in a Walmart shopping center. The next night we pulled into a camp ground in Texas as it is a large state. We stayed a a KOA about 60 miles south of the Arkansas border. The weather peeps were predicting bad weather and we were under a tornado watch, but it was predicted to be extremely bad the next night. So as we were traveling I programmed my smart phone to link up to the app for weather including a severe weather alert. I was monitoring the storms as we drove. I tried getting us a campground in Mount Juliet, TN but the office peeps had left for the day, so we stayed in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter. As the storms got closer the motorhome was rocking from the 50 mph wind gusts. I ended up going to sleep at 1:00 AM. At 3:00 AM my phone started SCREAMing TORNADO WARNING! SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY! We could hear the wind growling and I woke up my MIL. My DH ran outside and unhooked our car which we tow behind. With my MIL's injured back, there was no way we were going to be able to run across the 400 yards to the Walmart. DH pulled up with the car and we drove to the front doors. Went in and there were about 30 other peeps who were in there. The Walmart I was amazed to find out had a tornado shelter. My phone SCREAMED 3 more times for Mount Juliet and one did actually touch down about 2 miles away by way of the crow flies. The next day we travelled all day in the same storm front in pouring rain & high winds. Then we had to deal with my phone SCREAMing again, which I naturally thought was another tornado warning. But this time it was alerting us to Flash Floods. I am so glad to be home again! Who would have thought that we'd run into tornadoes in January!

wow that certainly must have been very scary

I just noticed that I had already made this recipe that I tagged, AcadiaToo's
Grilled Mozzarella Cheese Sandwich, and we loved it just as much this time around, lol. Sorry Acadia, re-issuing you a credit ;)

Thank you! It was very scary! The weird thing is I often have nightmares about tornadoes and in my dreams we always make it toba shelter in time and survive the event. So in this case it actually did happen.
