Mini Potlucks - Appetizers, Crock Pot and Casseroles

Post by Gerry » Tue Feb 26, 2013 1:31 pm

March 3rd to 10th sees to the Canadian Men's Brier, with the winning team to the World Curling Championship being held in Victoria B.C. at the end of March. This curling fan plans her day around the games and always plans a number of mini potlucks.

We have many family favourites but we all like to adding something new. Be sure to stop by and add a couple of your favourite choices when watching the game. Recipes and photos welcome! :)

I love fondue. May be classic; but I love it.

This is a nice recipe; but I prefer a white wine, swiss and a mix of cheeses. Just my favorite. By the cheddar beer recipe is very good.

It can be served in a small crock pot; with bread, small potatoes, veggies, pretzels; lots of things.

Always a hit, and it reminds me of a cold weather dish.

Good luck your favorite team. Players? Not really sure. I think its players.

My favorite thing to bring to a potluck is funeral casserole. It is named that cuz I normally bring it to funerals. It is a comforting meal. I don't think I have even posted it! I will post it soon. Its easy, good and everyone always asks for the recipe. I just need to stop calling it that! I doubt I posted it because its boxed or cans of this or that things, but you can always use the concept for a from scratch meal. It is sort of a chicken/turkey shephards pie. Delicious.

Sounds just the thing for a game day meal! Will be watching for that one Dissie!

PS, Well maybe you might want to be giving it a new name - or - just go with it!

I heave heard of it ... and yes called Funeral Casserole - ate it - but never made it. However, it was always good. Had it many times at Church functions; and yes ... after a funeral. Always delicious.
