Share your Potluck favorites with Canadian Scottie fans!

Post by Gerry » Fri Feb 17, 2012 4:52 pm

It's one big week for Canadian fans following the Woman's Canadian Curling championship games. For those of us who haven't headed to Alberta it means a week of mealtime planning around the games as well as appetisers, munchies and coffee and dessert offerings for the times family and friends gather to watch the games. Think one will be seeing one lot of Saskatchewan green and white in the stands!
Some appetizers this fan plans on enjoying:

racrgal's http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/california-guacamole

racrgals http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/jalape ... er-poppers

Engrossed's http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/green- ... -mushrooms

For the early games this one is easy on the cook - we call this one our mini cinnamon buns. It's super easy to make and that platter always come back to the kitchen empty. http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/cinnam ... nkey-bread

Sunday's surprise dessert is Derf's http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/old-fa ... pped-cream

When expecting extra fans I prepare Rink Burgers and all the fixings - break time heat though, add the buns and favourite toppings and your back to watching the game. http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/rink-burgers

Be sure to stop by and share your favourites - know I am needing more and I do review those I make!

Hiya Gerry *Waves*
I love potlucks but I only ever go to them during the summer months. I'll have to go through my recipes and see what kinds of recipes I think would work for a winter potluck ;) :D Probably the same for summer potlucks

Only summer you say - maybe that's why it's been so quiet in here!! It's a year around thing here in Saskatchewan - likely why we are known as Potluck Country!

Hoping to see some of your favourites Bea, as well as from the curling fans across Canada - it takes one lot of planning to squeeze in as many games as possible ... doesn't leave much time to search out recipes! So come on everyone join in and share those recipes!

Thank you for taking time to search out potluck recipes Bea! Attending potlucks in our area is a matter of everyone knowing everyone ... that has us taking the best of the best - which of course after a number of years has one needing new recipes! Love having choices.

Can hardly wait to make your Strawberry Shortcake Derf and expecting it to be a real winner at our house! Looking forward to the Scotties, going to be seeing some great curling with a lot of familiar faces - love watching your Kelly Scott. And yes it will be televised - http://www.tsn.ca/curling/

Bea - Tell your hubby I will be watching for the Tracy Horgan - great to see a young team make it to the Scotties.

Keep the recipes coming! :D

Another day of those seemingly endless appointments saw us to the city having me miss all but the last ends of the afternoon games. Must have been some terrific curling, came home to find three teams running neck and neck!

Dare I admit running late had me pick up a deli chicken and adding a mixed green salad for supper. So much for today's meal planning! Did find some lovely ripe avocados for the guacamole, some great looking jalapeno peppers for the jalepeno poppers and a couple containers of the lushest red strawberries that I've seen in months for the Strawberry Shortcake - all on for tomorrow. Main course remains a surprise. Looking to hear what other curling fans have planned.
