We have been living on soup these past couple of weeks. This one was so good. (Well not really a soup but using the soup ramen) It came together quickly and easily. I will definitely be making this again. I can see myself adding either shrimp or chicken to this to elevate it a bit.

I just went out and grabbed one of the last cucuzza out of the garden for you to see Pia.


I think think lunga de Sicilia is the trombonica or Tromboncino squash, which I did also grow this year. The trombonica grow in the shape of a bulb at the end, and have a yellow flower. Where the cucuzza have a white flower.
Both grew very well this year, both are well worth growing, similar to a Zucchini in taste and the same growing conditions but I grew both on a trellis this year with better results!

Oh, yes, my cucuzza ( the one with the white flowers) just sprouted in the greenhouse. I need to transplant it. It did great two years ago but I left them on the plant for too long and the become too tough to eat.
I'll pay more attention this year.
In Sicily they eat the young leaves also.
