So I'm confused. We have a chat thread, but we still chat here? And Ninner has been completely removed from everything as if she never existed? Nice. Very nice.

We're having leftovers tonight.

Wine and chicken ... good stuff!!! Count me in

Felix, what Ninner does or did is up to her and the board (Zazz). And, I'm not involved in that. I am just trying to keep the thread going until something is decided. I didn't want it to end just because Ninner is not here. I'm just trying to fill in is all.

And, yes, 'Chat' is chat; but different than the dinner thread. In the dinner thread, I may say a 'nice day, FL, busy, but ...'; but, that is really the extent of the chat on the dinner thread, it seems. Chat seems to be well received; I like it. We can chat ... pretty much about anything. I don't think anyone would have a problem if you chatted on the dinner thread either.

Glad to see you! Just trying to keep things going. Join us for Feb 1st. Wow, Feb already, Geeze?

We got out of work early tonight. 3 hours early, which was great because my crockpot casserole would have been a dried out mess. It was already burning to the sides when we returned. It was on low from 1:30 until 8:30. Recipe said to cook for 9 hours on low!

It had a great taste, but a yuck texture. It was mushy. It sure was nice to have a hot meal waiting though. We just crushed up some doritos and mixed that in and it was so much better. Great flavor, just didn't care for the texture....

I was supposed to make BBQ shredded pork sandwiches tonight, but ended up having soup and a sandwich instead. We almost never have pork around here since BF and DD both don't like it much. It is just the tubs of ready made meat from Curly's, since it was one sale for buy one get one free. Good on nights when I need someone else to heat up dinner for me and oddly they will eat it, even though it is pork.

I tried to make a pie I had made before and shared online. Found out the hard way that somehow the recipe had some errors in the version I had shared. I could have sworn it was up correctly - the reviewers had no problems with it (the mistake was a glaring omission). Anyway, luckily I found the original, corrected the recipe - and will now have to buy more chocolate and cream for to make. The first attempt was horrific - the whipped cream seized up and looked like cottage cheese, and the chocolate mixture turned to a sticky glueball. I know the pie worked for me before (without the error), so I'll make it again. If the pie turns out this time, I will share it here.

HF, sorry about the pie fiasco! But soup and a sandwich is always a nice dinner. I hope you get the recipe fixed.

Dis, CP's are so hard to work with. My bigger one, I finally have figured out; but so many recipes don't take into account the older vs newer, and the size as well. I still love my 20+ yr old Rival. It cooks great. The newer ones cook much hotter; and the size really alters a dish/recipe.

Well, I changed my dinner as well.
I ended up going with my first plan which was to stuff the chop. I used leftover turkey stuffing from the Holidays. Added dried cranberries and applesauce to the stuffing.
Stuffed the chop, pan seared, and topped with more applesauce. Baked until tender and falling apart. It was really good. I added some white wine to the casserole dish as well.
