Morning Everyone!

Well, we are supposed to get rain, but so far ... nothing; north and south of us. We certainly do need it - and cooler weather is on the way, which will be a nice change.

My Vday dinner was last night. Food Coma! I reached my caloric max for at least two weeks after what we ate - but it was worth it. A nice time.

Today's Cooking ...

Lady #3: Just her tonight, her daughter will celebrate Vday this weekend with her. She requested Pea Soup. I'm making Fresh Pea Soup, crostini with goat cheese; and, some chocolate covered strawberries

Me: Ham, Mushroom, and Tomato Pie; cucumber salad; and more fresh strawberries

You are right with Goulash Recipes Dis ... We all have our favorites. Spam sounds interesting in that. I can't say I dislike it; because I have had a few good recipes before with spam. I would be curious too.

Can't wait to see the pics. Sounds like a very successful dinner! Goulash, not matter what the recipe; always seems to be a favorite.

I'm making a small prime rib and a few baby potatoes for our Valentines dinner with a small side salad.

Happy Valentines Day!

Prime rib sounds amazing.
We had a potluck at work. So I had lasagna, chicken pot pie made in a crockpot, rice something-it was tasty-some type of casserole. Crackers with chicken salad, pickled walleye. OMG that was amazing! I first thought it was herring, but nope, Walleye! I didnt eat a cupcake that I had brought, since I had already had my sugar fix at home...have to sample you know... There were so many more choices, but I ran out of room on my plate! All in all, our potluck was a success. It was great to take a break and eat such a variety of things. Brownies, cake, jello salads, cole slaws and potato salads, all things I didnt try....no room.

Pot luck sounds good Dis. I have one coming up in a couple of weeks which should be a lot of fun. My friend lives on a cul de sac/dead end road, and all the neighbors; about 12 of them do a potluck 4 or 5x a year. One neighbor has a big tent; so, it's set up right it the middle of the street. I know a lot of the neighbors, so I'm always invited. There's about 40 of us including kids. A good excuse for a party. They take a couple of fire pits out. The kids play basket ball and soccer, the adults consume food and cocktails, lol.

But, I agree Dis. IT IS SO NICE to eat so many different things on one plate. One guy makes smoked amberjack; another deviled eggs, there is fried fresh fish, corn pudding, Italian casseroles, and my favorite ... One makes homemade peach ice cream which is to die for!!

Tonight will most likely be an assortment of leftovers. I have homemade chicken soup, homemade pizza, and various sides all needing to get eaten up. I was originally planning to make Asian food, but we have too many leftovers to use up and dd will be eating with her friends anyway.

I made pizza last night and messed up the dough somehow. It came out more like thick bread instead of pizza dough - same recipe we loved last time. I will just have to keep trying to nail it. Wasn't awful, just wasn't that great taste we had last time I made it.

Tonight we are having Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls (might try a new recipe or stick with my old standby, not sure which yet) and some noodle kugel (using a family recipe) for dessert. Bought a loaf of challah bread from the deli last night that didn't get eaten yet, so that will be served as well (and I will likely be making French Toast out of half of it too, and maybe bread pudding if there is enough left).

These were my DDs other requests so far this week (she wrote 5 things on my request board :D )
Yep, Rhett has to be exercised every 3-4 hours. Sometimes just throwing the ball until he's panting? But it keeps him out of stuff

Well, all I had to eat yesterday was some soup and 1/2 an antipasto platter, so I'm splurging with bacon wrapped chicken and mushroom orzo tonight
