Dissie, lasagna sounds so good right now. It's been ages since I done it. I have a pound of ground beef in the fridge right now that MUST be cooked tomorrow. I think I'll go ahead and brown the meat, package it, and pick up some lasagna noodles on Monday. MMMmmm

I can taste is already.

Well, the lobster was DIVINE! Just warmed them up on the grill; butter and lemon of course. I made a fruit salad - mango, watermelon, honeydew, and fresh red raspberries; and dessert was mango sorbet she had already made to bring for me. NO toppings, just that. Delicious! A bottle of wine; and a movie, even though it wasn't a matinee. Independence Day, it was fine. Still good times.
Her DH is out of town for work, so, I'm sure she enjoyed a Moms night out. Kids, even the' sicky' ... spend the night at Grandmas.
Aren't Grandma's the best?

Today we went boysenberry picking in HOT 97F full sun weather. Those things have tiny thorns all over them too. Poor Max didn't try to pick any beyond the first one. But he loved eating them! They also picked us some red and green leaf lettuce at the farm.
Dinner was a lovely salad including the fresh picked lettuce with ranch dressing, poached salmon which I used one of Kim's recipes for the poaching method but changed a few things and didn't make the sauce, and fresh french bread with butter. We made up a quick Orange Agua Fresca to drink. Dessert was my Blancmange with the fresh picked boysenberries. Yummo!

That's ok...we never did have a separate thread for May, after all. Seems when y'all took over it required paying a bit more attention. ;)

I'm not cooking today past the poached eggs and toast I made for my brekkie.
Bill is scheduled for medical testing tomorrow and is on liquids today so I figured I wouldn't torture him with smells of good food cooking. Plus the cooking smells do hang around a bit- if I made chox chip cookies I am sure the odor would drive him mad for days.
I may run out and grab something later. Or a salad.

I ended up making ramen for dinner. We got lucky and had just finished the yardwork before a huge storm started. I had literally just gone in and bam, tons of rain and wind.

A huge cell to our east, just a couple of miles if that. NOTHING here, I hopped. I was grilling my peppers, and the propane ran out. Got the spare tank, and it doesn't work. Back to Home Depot tomorrow. Not happy with their propane service. Seems like underfilled and problems with them. Home depot has always been good, some, surprised.
Had to finish in the oven. Not happy, because I won't get the smoky flavor.
But, glad you got some rain HF ... think good thought and some send my way.

Didn't you say you had a small charcoal grill?
I am sitting here wondering if you had a hot plate and an outdoor outlet if you could get a comal and do them on that, if the hot plate got hot enough. But if it gets stovetop hot it should work.
