Sue I would have loved your dinner!

We had ribs, I added bbq sauce and they were falling off the bone delicious. I made ABM dinner rolls, cheesy rice with broccoli, green beans and corn.

The green beans were from the garden, I added butter, Crazy Janes mixed up salt, minced onions and some leftover small cube ham (Leftover in the freezer ham) and they were delicious. I made corn from a pack I put up last fall, just added butter and salt. OMG the veggies were more delicious than the rest of the meal in my opinion. It was delicious! Hubby said he hates that I am going back to work next week! I certainly have had more time to cook lately! I have put on 5 lbs in 2 months! :o OH well, it will come right back off once I start working with summer coming. We sweat our butts off in the summer. Can't keep the factory cool with the fryers going. ;) So no pun intended, I ain't sweating the weight gain too much! Those darn packs of corn on the cob are still in the freezer!

Dis, how did you do your corn for the freezer? I have tried a few ways, successfully; but, would always love to try something new too. Maybe something I missed.

Dinner sounded fantastic. I wish I had your dinner!

Morning!

Boy, do I HATE it dark in the am. I am up at 5 or 6 at the latest; and, it is dark! But, I do love it late at night. I guess I got to compromise somehow

All my friend in Detroit MI, stay warm and safe; also, those in the NE. You are going to get slammed.

Dinner, one of the ladies I cook for called me this am; she knew I had my foot procedure. NO way am I cooking for them, she said. Dinner is on them. They are true gems.

They know I love Basil's Flame Broiled Chicken ... a local place, nothing fancy trust me. But, their chicken is awesome. Won best in our City, 10 yrs in a row.
I'm sure that is what they will get me. It will be a chicken dinner w/mashed and gravy; mac and cheese; salad w/house Greek dressing; and, warm homemade pita with honey butter. I will be a happy girl.

I did put in 4 heads of garlic in the oven (for the freezer stash)
And, a loaf of onion bread in the ABM.
That is the extent of my cooking today.

Kim I just blanched the whole cobs for like 2 minutes. Cooled and some I scraped the corn off, some I froze whole. That's it! I did suck all the air out of the packets though. It still tastes like fresh corn. So sweet and delicious!

Can I stay warm and safe if I'm in a part of Michigan that isn't Detroit? We're going back down below zero with 4-5 more inches of snow again.

Dinner tonight (and through the weekend) will be at my niece's house. What we're having depends on if she had a plan for tonight already of it I'm taking over her kitchen starting tonight instead of tomorrow. Whatever it is, will be full of carbs.

I was thinking of doing cb hash with poached eggs or something else and colcannon but I think I may be about sick and tired of Irish food.
I have some trout that I could prepare in a Japanese sauce the way they do eel. Little bit of rice and maybe some carrots. We'll see. Time is running short! I need to decide!

Felix, a lot of you got hit up there, Chi town too. Like I said ... the never ending winter. Stay in and warm.

Sue, sounds good. I can go about 2-3 days ... then enough Irish, lol. It's coming up soon for me.

The ladies dropped off dinner; it was delish. I pretty much stayed planted today. Heel is better, tender, but NO need for meds; just sore when I walk. Better tomorrow.

They threatened snow flurries, but so far, nothing! :D

We had a clean out the fridge type of meal. I browned up bratwursts and sliced into coins, added cabbage, corn, green beans, onions and bells. It was good, served with fried potatoes.
