I think I'm going to do something with fish tonight. I've got both cod and tilapia, and also I never did anything with the zucchini or summer squash (which are surprisingly still good...the other two must have been older when we bought them). I have an idea involving a foil packet in the oven, but I'll see if it works out.

Felix, one of my favorite meals. Add some grated carrots, onions, tomato and a small dash of butter. Season, and wrap up with a little broth inside, to make moisture for the veggies and bake.

It is one of my favorite meals. Serve with rice. Delish. I make the fish pouches often and they are always good.

Well...I may use carrots, but I absolutely cannot stand grated carrots. It's a carryover from growing up Lutheran in the Midwest (if you've heard Garrison Keillor, you'll get that). But I do have the zucchini and summer squash, and a few carrots left, and green onion. I'll come up with something. :)

Hah! I don't get the Garrison Keillor joke (I'll have to look that up) - but I sure do know a thing about growing up Lutheran (although not in the midwest). Shredded carrots were in so many jello salads at potlucks! I love carrots and I love jello, but I really never understood the vegetables in my jello concept.

Crockpot dinner smells good and I just made my coleslaw. No vinegar in this one - just lime juice, cilantro, salt and pepper, oil, and a tiny bit of sugar in the dressing. A huge mountain of the stuff - hope it turns out good. Trying out a recipe.

I do remember carrots in a jello I made EONS ago. Never like it either.

You can scratch the carrots Felix, lol

I'm sure the slaw is good HF. No rain right now, so it looks like I can grill my peppers.

I ate them, but I always thought it was so weird to find shredded beets, carrots, sliced cucumbers, shredded cheese, etc in a jello mold. Fruit I never minded. I drew the line though with other veggies that were just awful in jello - like cabbage.

Thankfully my mom stuck to fruit in jello!

I was planning on grilling burgers but the weather isn't getting me into the mood. We did grill steak last night and I have a lot leftover so I'm sure I could figure out something to do with that. A stirfry or something......

My grandma used to make this jello salad with both shredded carrots AND shredded cabbage! It was horrible! We stuck with fruit at my house, too.

The fish pouch is in the oven, and it smells wonderful! Hopefully I won. :)

Not a big fan of jello salad. Your fish in foils sounds good Felix. Church the weather is expected to turn cooler on the weekend & stuffed cabbage rolls sounds good. Did you post a recipe for them in the crockpot?

Just watched the News. They did a report on the increase on food here due to the drought. 3.5% in 2012, 4% in 2013. The biggest increase will be poultry.

No rain expected now as it is happening to the North of my location. Tomorrow will be the same as today with temps. approaching 100F which does not include the humidex reading.
