kc -sorry to hear about your A/C issue. My former lawn guys did something similar - cut right through the cable, knocking out my internet, phone, tv - and they took off without saying a word. My cable company fixed it, since the cable never should have been installed in an area that could get weed wacked anyway, so no charge for me. I fired the lawn crew after that (had been wanting to anyway).

incictus - that sounds awful, I am glad you are OK

Had chicken sandwiches last night with fries (sweet potato for me). Tonight will be something made with cooked rotisserie chicken - not sure what yet. Maybe chicken tacos or a casserole of some kind.

Bought some pies yesterday that were disappointing. I usually bake my own pies but they looked so good in the store yesterday, plus they were on sale. I am glad pumpkins are back in season so I can make up a bunch of puree. I really love the flavors of fall.

At least the leak was outside HF, and I still had AC. Just a mess outside and tearing up the yard and plants is all. I even told them to watch the lines ... but no ... I'm just a dumb blonde and don't know anything and they are smart big jocks who know it all.

Well, I wasn't the one who dug where I told them NOT to and cut through the line. Four (4) hrs later and my plants dug up, it is all fixed.

Doing the chicken thing too tonight ... must be chicken Saturday.

And, I do love the fall flavors. Acorn squash is a favorite of mine.

Well, tonight I am making good old fashioned sloppy joes topped with american cheese and pickles, chips. It just suddenly sounded good yesterday, LOL :D

Tonight we are having English Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, and Green Beans Rouqfort. Our temps will be in the mid 30's here tonight so the meal will warm from the inside.

Chicken Pot Pie is baking now - made everything from scratch except for the chicken meat (rotisserie leftovers). So far it looks good. Combined a few different recipes to hopefully make a really good version for our family.

COLD!! But dinner sounds quite good. Heading down to the beach for a quick walk and to eat my dinner. Made a wrap with my leftover chicken, some salad ingredients, cheese and rolled it up. Wrapped and ready to go. A cup of chopped melon and beer of course ...

Church, you are MORE than welcome to have my job today!!! The crew is...special. They have entirely too much crap for a one-night show, including the 1/2 truck each their two opening acts carry. Also, I only got one meal break, so my dinner was eaten on the fly while working out of a styrofoam box with no silverware...which was an adventure, since it was beef stir-fry (made with at least a cup of salt) and (for reasons I cannot fathom) Spanish rice. With pea pods and baby corn steamed together on the side. The stir-fry was just beef and sauce, with a couple of bean sprouts in it. Nothing else.

It's not been a really terrific day so far.

Morning,

Big day here with Thanksgiving dinner. My roasts from the German deli will arrive later. I have set the table & prep. all my veg. I have been up for hours & the Sun does not come up for 1/2 hrs.

Last night I made grilled hamburgers. I do make a nice burger. I thought of you all last night while I was grilling. I wish you had all been here with me. Standing outside & yes we are at least on our second drink. Someone said it is raining????? No it was snowing, lol.

I was gifted a "OXO Good Grips Hand-Held Madoline Slicer". Wonderful product & I have no idea what it would cost. Did my onions & tomatoes with it. I was impressed.

Still having a problem with this keyboard as it has a life of it's own.

Morning Nin -

I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving today. I'm sure you have it all set and ready to go.

Today, just household chores; and, a bit of planting. Nothing too exciting. I have to go to Wally World as well, how exciting, lol.

Today ...
Baking some cornbread; and a pot of White Bean Chili
