I ran errands most of the am; got everything I needed to plant. Come home, had a quick sandwich; and RAIN. No chance of rain and RAIN. Can't clean my lanai, can't do my chimes, can't plant. Now it stopped by everything is wet. Oh well.

Can't win today. and Felix, yes it does, lol. Dinner sounds good; I have a few good tomatoes to use up too. Farm tomatoes are so good right now.

Shapes, sounds like a nice dinner. Love a good chicken salad.

Morning All! A nice rain again last night - Makes 3 showers at least for the day. Back to my yard; after I get done with my work ... yes, actually working from home.

Today's Cooking ...

Ladies #1 and #2 - Card/Game Night: Tomato soup to start; 3 wings (classic, Asian, and honey BBQ); celery and carrots w/blue cheese or ranch; sweet potatoes and reg fries; brownies and ice cream.
All wings and fries are baked

Me: More leftover chicken from Mon (before I put a couple of small bags in the freezer), served with my own honey spicy BBQ sauce; carrot raisin salad; and, one of the spuds I smoked, a quick pan fry with onions and peppers.

NO, not making the salad; I had a coupon for the Deli - 1lb of meat, I get 1 small container of salad. I needed ham anyways, so why not. Just enough for me.

Tonight I'm doing Budget-Friendly Braised Chicken Thighs with Mushrooms (from the American Diabetes Association, using baby bellas), more of Luvcookn's AMAZING #recipe7894, and whatever other leftovers I've got in the fridge.

I was roasting the rest or actually more of the tomatoes in my fridge, and then ended up with going to my moms, to deliver an antique cherry piece of furniture I had. She gave me a lb of hamburger that is from her side of beef. No fat, just beef. With no time, made spaghetti. I had roasted tomatoes, why not? OMG it was good! dh said it was the best he ever ate. of course it was a fly by the seat of my pants sauce. But how could you reproduce, fresh from the garden, perfection, never would be the same.

Morning and Happy Sat!!

Well, yesterday was NOT my day. I lost cable (internet, ph, tv); then, another storm and power. No garden work, NO internet work, NO anything. So, met a friend for early HH and Mexican food. all was good. Dinner, on hold.

Tonight, my smoked chicken, carrot raisin salad, and my smoked potato fried with peppers and onions.

Also, hitting the farmers market late (everything goes on sale at noon, before they close at 1); hoping to get some tomatoes to make a sauce for the freezer - using a friends crock pot recipe. It's a bit different, and she wants me to review it.

Also, want to get some mixed peppers to make some refrigerator peppers - 3 to 4 jars.

Probably the sauce and peppers will get done late tonight or tomorrow ... not too sure.

My brother-in-law stopped by last night with two decent-sized puffball mushrooms for me! I'm slicing them, then frying them in butter with salt and pepper. When I was a kid, we used to get so many we couldn't possibly eat them all (which only made more the next year as they went to seed), but since the condos went in they no longer grow here. My sister's property butts up against an old cemetery, though, so they get a few of them a year. I can't wait! =P~

With that, I'm creating something that started as a Greek spinach and feta pie, but I kept adding things to it and now I'm going to have to make it in a 9x13 pan instead of a pie plate. You'll have that.

I have never had that before Felix, I looked them up, very interesting. I bet they are delicious! I love mushrooms, so it sounds wonderful!

We went out to eat a chinese buffet for lunch, not hungry at all. I am not cooking tonight, no one really feels hungry, just probably going to pick. I have a cucumber tomato salad, so thats probably what I will pick on.

Felix, never had those mushrooms either; but, I am sure I would love them. LOVE all mushrooms. Your casserole sounds interesting. Anything with spinach and Feta is good to me.
