Fireplace is set & ready to light. It will not give me any if a little heat but I will have light. Any chores such as cats & water are completed while I have power. I do have a large water heater which will give me more water. Red Cross has now moved in about 2-3 miles from me to offer assistance for medical & food. I think I am good on the food thing except to heat?

It is the trees around that house that concern me tonight. There has been a lot of rain in the last number of days so they are not sitting tight (roots). I do not want one of these 200 foot trees coming through the roof tonight!!!!!!!

Not much of any thing new on the News so same old same old.

Church I so hope I do not lose power???????????????????????????????????????????

I think this will be my last post for the next 36hrs? Most of Toronto has lost power. They are about 1 hour from me. The pressure is now 940mb which is the lowest ever seen. The winds are now 70 miles per hour rain expected later. Not much more to say then this night is going to "suck"!!!

Nin, stay warm and dry. At least the pressure is up, but still low, and the winds are not as bad. But Sandy still can cause a lot of damage; just look what is has done so far.

Gorgeous here, but still breezy and 60 this am which is a tad cool. I shouldn't of left the back slider open; I was cold this morning.

Well, I got a good first review from my new client; she loved the salmon casserole. I used fresh mushrooms, asparagus, gruyere cheese, and a very light sauce; baked with baby penne pasta and some light bread crumbs on top for a little crunch. She is having the soup tonight. So far ... so good.

I enjoyed just a soup and sandwich last night, it hit the spot.
Today: I think I will have my Lasagna Roll-ups I had the other night; but roast some baby carrots on the side.

I'm hoping to get to the store today to pick up some ingredients for a couple of pots of soup. I'm officially out, so I want to make a beef barley; and a bean, kale, potato and sausage soup. Both freeze well and I can make 1/2 batches. This time of year work gets busy and it is always nice to have soup in the freezer.

I figure I'll be starving by the time dinner comes around, but I also figure I'll be so loopy I won't want to eat. So I'm figuring on beef bouillon and crackers. Maybe some yogurt.

Happy Halloween Everyone,

Felix glad to see you back. How did it go?

The last of Sandy sits above us now. Meaning rain & a strong breeze. So it will be raining tonight for Halloween which will make it hard to see the costumes.

Dinner tonight will be breakfast. Low on groceries & will shop tomorrow when the weather improves.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

I'm sure many of dealing with the effects of Sandy, and I hope everyone is safe. Lots of destruction and unfortunately loss of life as well. It will be a long time until everything will be back to normal.

Today, is busy, but I have most everything done already.
No T&T in my neighborhood; but, my pumpkin is out, despite they don't like fresh pumpkins out ... they say it attracts animals.

I go to the hospital (dressed up) and go to the childrens ward and give out candy in my mini pumpkins. All candy approved by the hospital. I also made some pumpkin cookies for them. I do this almost every year. It is really a lot of fun and the kids love it. They don't get tons of candy, but a few things (better than noting). And I get the GOOD stuff, lol.

Then, from there, I go to the retirement home (same one I do at Xmas) and drop off hot cider, pumpkin cookies, fudge, and some 'diabetic' friendly candy. All in plastic pumpkins and my real pumpkin which I carved. They enjoy it; and have it in between lunch and dinner. They set it all up on a table for me.

Ladies #1 and #2: I made it easy today. A big pot of ham and bean soup (classic style) already done; beer bread with a herb butter; and, stuffed lettuce cups (a basic chopped salad)

Me: Salmon tacos with a creamy avocado, fennel, cabbage slaw; on the side spicy black beans
------------------

Now, it is just dress up and go deliver.

Then, I have a late party to attend at 8pm tonight, not too late. It is pretty fun, adults only. About 30-40 of us. Very low key, a few snacks, cocktails, a few silly games - best and worst costume etc. I'll be home probably by 11. They have this party every year.

So, HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL ... AND FOR ALL THOSE TRICK OR TREATERS!

We have 2 of our daughters and a granddaughter staying with us because some trees fell on their trailer and took out their power lines ( I mean tore them and the meter off the side of the trailer ), thanks Sandy! We will be having hot dogs and baked beams as requested by the 2 year old.
This empty nest became full again!

Luckily no one is hurt shadows; that is the most important thing. Hot dogs and baked beans sound perfectly good to me.

I made a huge batch of homemade mac and cheese and hardly anybody ate so that's dinner again tonight. It was good, just nobody was all that hungry.
