One thing I forgot. I need a recommendation of a new toaster. The one I have is a Black & Decker 4 slice & it has failed on one side. I have never liked this toaster since the day I bought it.

Recommendations please?

Don't laugh, but I have a Hamilton Beach which is probably 10 yrs old. It looks brand new, works great. 4 slots. I know - I am not a gadget person, but it works great. Dad when he passed left a smaller, 2 slice B&D, I still have it, because I thought mine my die; it hasn't, but the 2 slice doesn't take up that much room. It is in the garage in my storage closet, so, just in case.

Wish I could give you some great advice.
I still have a cheapy Gevalia, FREE coffee maker from 7 years ago. So, as you can see; not much of a gadget person. BTW, the coffee maker works fantastic.

Sorry Nin, I'm not much help

Morning All!

Olympics back on. Of course the DVR is going. Got called in to work at 3am (emergency), after 1 hr sleep. Home, and very tired - catching up on some bills and misc things.

I don't know where the weekend went. Not enough time, never is.

Dinner ...
I planned meatless Mon, but I had to move up all my meals this week.

Lady #1, #2, and Me: Beef patties with a mushroom onion gravy; gnocchi; and peas. Dessert - Lemon tarts for the ladies

Thanks Church, I am going to go to Best Buy & look around. Last thing I purchased was a Cuisinart coffee maker & I have been pleased with that. They might have something on sale? See if any of the other members have a recommendation? I really do need a 4 slice.

I do not know where the weekends go either. I will soon post a new dinner thread for August. Now that scares me!

Hehe...we're only going about two hours north, so still in Michigan. Not even so far as over the bridge. We (my niece and her sister, her husband, the three kids and me) rented a cabin here: http://www.ellislakeresort.com/. It's fabulous! :D

Dinner tonight is going to be garlic lime chicken. I had completely forgotten about the marinade until a couple of days ago when my best friend thanked me again for giving her the recipe 10+ years ago. When I get a picture, I'll post the recipe here. Sides will be http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/kidney-bean-salad and http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creamy-grape-salad

Have Fun Felix. I have been there. Our summer home/second home was in Bear Lake, just 30 north of Manistee, right east of Lake M. But went to Interlochen, Travers of course, Leelanau, skied on Crystal Lake all the time, Torch Lake and then Mackinaw, Petowski, Charlevoix. etc

Every summer, weekends yr round. Love that area. Spent 1 week at Ellis with a g/f and her family during the winter.

Have fun, I hope you have great weather. Sounds like fun.

I have a cold or allergies today, so the last thing I want to even think about is cooking/washing dishes. We already had our "eat out" night over the weekend, so just picking up something isn't an option really. Maybe just ramen for dinner. Going to lie down and hope it gets better.

I'm making cheeseburgers and tater tots for the guys. Went out last night and had some delicious mussels and pasta. It is cool and cloudy here, only 84 degrees. Such a relief from all that heat! Temp dropped to 79 last night and DH wore long sleeves and jeans to dinner, he is such a goof :D expecting more severe storms, not happy about that as we had a tornado warning last night.

Well...since today's installment of the medical mystery tour involved the doctor's office, the lab for bloodwork, and the pharmacy for yet another prescription...which got us home at just after 5pm, I didn't get to marinate the chicken. I ended up throwing some frozen stuffed chicken breasts in the oven with the same sides as planned.

I am still feeling lousy, but I did make some meatloaf for dinner. I just felt like something warm and comforting tonight.

Hope your surgery goes well, Felix.
