As promised, we've dropped about 30 degrees since yesterday, and it's still falling. Last night we had a nice surprise little thunderstorm which was cool. Today it's gray and ohmygod windy and it just looks miserable.

Tonight I get to work!!! The only thing I'm allowed to do is hockey games, so that's where I'm going. First one since I've been off, and I can't wait. :D

Dinner? As if I'm cooking. Not only do I have to be at the arena around the time we normally eat, but there are enough leftovers to feed at least two families, plus I'm leaving Sunday night for a few days. So...lamb, roasted cauliflower, green bean casserole, salad, red cabbage, cranberry sauce and biscuits. And pecan pie, which we didn't get to last night.

I'm making turkey and dressing stuffed acorn squash with leftover kluski noodles.
I partially cook the acorn squash by cutting it in half, scoop out the seeds, season inside with salt and pepper. Then place the halves open side down in a microwave-safe baking dish with about 1/2 inch of water in it and covered loosely with wax paper. Nuke for about 10 minutes for a small one.
Then I cut up some leftover turkey into cubes, mix with leftover dressing and a little leftover gravy. Remove par-baked squash from microwave and fill halfway with some of the turkey mixture. Then place a teaspoon of goat cheese and top with more turkey mixture, mounding it high. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake in a preheated 350 degree F. oven for about 45 minutes till turkey mixture is heated.
Then I'm serving it with leftover kluski noodles and leftover crescent rolls that have been reheated in the oven.

I just made turkey sandwiches, heating the turkey up first, with some of the leftover sides from Thanksgiving.

Well, I might as well post for tomorrow, because I obviously can't sleep. What happened ... the tryptophan never kicked in :(

Any Black Friday Shoppers? I ended up going to Walmart late in the day to pick up cat food and some glitter ... just something for a Xmas project; and, I was surprised, not too bad. I think I was just lucky.

Dinner, turkey Day 2 for me. No big surprise. Same as last night.

My neighbor is coming over and I'm teaching her how to make turkey soup. She has never made it. Just the basics with noodles.

Morning,

Well it is official. Winter is here with snow on the ground. We are now in a "Storm Watch" for the weekend with a lot more snow expected next week. I need to get the rest of my outside Christmas lights up this weekend.

Went over to a friends last night for appetizers & dessert. She put the wood skewers for chicken in the wine to wet. Very nice taste to the chicken.

Used my ActiFry to make chicken wings yesterday. Nicer then baked but did not thrill me. Today I am going to try fresh russet french fries which I have to pick up at the potato farm. Also going to the egg farm which is a bit of a drive & do not care for it in the snow. Those hens better being laying & not on vacation, lol.

Lovinretirement, thank you for the recipe that sounds like a good way to serve leftover turkey.

Felix, where are you off to for 3 days?

Church, sorry your meds are effecting your sleep. It is one of those damed if you do, damed if you don't.

Nin, NO meds ... Not even asprin. But turkeys famous tryptophan coma never set in for me. I was hoping it would LOL. Everyone else falls asleep after eating turkey, why can't I?

Snow, I saw that. I think you get a reprieve Mon and Tues and then more snow on the way. I talked to my friend in Toronto this am and he has snow too. It is absolutely perfect here. It will be 72-74 ish today, sunny and breezy, but cool tonight - 45ish.

Snow here, too, but we got relatively lucky and it didn't stick this time. It is stupid cold, though, and so gloomy we have to turn lights on in the house during the day.

Ninner, I'm going to my niece's house to see my babies! :D Well, ok, I'm going to visit the grownups too, and to get out of my house for a bit, but whatever. She's picking me up from the arena Sunday night and we're heading out, then coming back on Wednesday afternoon/evening.

Dinner tonight is going to be leftovers! Surprise, surprise! I'm thinking of combining things in new and exciting ways, though...mom gets cranky if I try to feed her the same thing three days in a row. It's possible a bunch of the lamb is going to hit the freezer.

Stay warm shadows! I can't say snow, but chilly for us Floridians. Sweats and a jacket, lol

The roof is starting to look like a roof again! Yay! Should be one more day of banging and they will be all done! A week and a half of this roof project and I'll be happy when it is all over.

I heated up some leftovers from Thanksgiving for lunch today, did the same thing for dinner for myself. DD went to a movie with her friend and BF is napping and hasn't eaten yet. Probably just heating up leftovers for him as well, DD will eat at the movies.

I have a lot of cleaning up to do around here - being sick set me pretty far back with that. I still have terrible allergies and congestion but it is slightly better again today.
