WHAT'S FOR DINNER - JANUARY 2014
Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - JANUARY 2014
Dinner tomorrow is leftovers. I've got #recipe4304 still, and some broccoli. If the grapes aren't bad I might make a small batch of #recipe5778. I've got a doctor's appointment in the morning, so we'll see what the verdict is, hopefully.

Felix good luck at the doctors office; hope you get a good report.
Well, even for FL this am, it is cold. Only 55 today ... Fire in the pit tonight, that's for sure.
Today's Cooking ...
Ladies #1 and #2: Card Game Night - They are having 16 people over night.
3 sliders (baked ham/cheese on King Hawaiian rolls w/poppyseed butter; cold turkey w/warm apple cherry chutney; and roast beef and cheddar).
Creamy tomato bisque and creamy onion soup, garnishes for both.
Tray marinated veggies (cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, peppardews, pickles).
Grilled pound or angle food cake. Toppings are: warm raspberry blueberry, or a peach sauce. Also have caramel or chocolate sauce and whipped cream.
Me: Out for dinner w/friend. She is stopping in town before heading to her Mom's. Her favorite seafood restaurant. I hope she doesn't want to eat outside of the deck ... too cold for me. She is from ME, probably a heat wave for her

Mom's probably still going to eat leftovers, but I am running away to my niece's house for a few days. Which means we'll probably be eating a ton of carbs, because those are allowed at her house. However, we won't be eating any dairy, since that is not.

Me ...
GF decided too cold - even for her; and the restaurant was packed (she drives by it on the way to my place). She called and got everything to go instead.
Bowl Scallop chowder; blackened grouper w/mango pineapple salsa (comes with rice and Asian salad); cocoanut shrimp, spicy dipping sauce, also comes with papaya slaw and sweet potato fries. She loves desserts; so, she got key lime for herself.
We will split everything. Wine is cold ... coffee is on ... a good movie is on ... and, the fire is lit. Ready! I'm hungry!!!!

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - JANUARY 2014
44 here, wind chill colder; but warming up to almost 70; then, back to 50 for a high on Monday - crazy winter weather.
But, I know there are brutal cold temps in the north. Stay bundled up everyone.
My g/f game over for dinner last night which was fun. She ended up staying and leaving early this to head to her parents.
I made soft scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and cream cheese and chives; whole wheat bread (ABM) w/honey butter; and bacon. Bacon, is great to make ahead and freeze. Just 30 seconds in the micro; and, you have crisp bacon ready to serve.
Dinner is at an open house party. A couple of friends just finished renovating their 1950's home. Her sister is a catering friend; so I know the entire family.
Lots of finger food; cocktails, etc. And trust me, since my friend is doing the food ... it will be delicious.
I did take out some soup from my freezer (creamy cabbage). If hungry later on - soup and a grilled cheese.

Soup sounds delicious; I can imagine it tasted wonderful. Beef barley is a favorite of mine as well.

A much warmers start today; in fact up to 80 - crazy weather. Stay safe everyone up north.
Lady #4: 3 meals I'll drop off tomorrow am
- Creamy butternut squash soup; Hawaiian King baked ham and cheese sliders; fruit salad
- Roasted pork tenderloin w/apples and onions; cheddar mashed potatoes; kale and spinach salad
- Sesame chicken thighs; cold peanut noodles; Asian slaw
Me: I am all about grazing.
I took out a bowl of creamy cabbage soup yesterday, so that is a start. My friends gave me some awesome smoked amberjack, so making a dip. I also picked up a couple of containers of mixed olives and marinated vegetables from my grocers olive bar; and some marinated mini mozz balls. They also sell a bag a mixed crackers from the bakery. And, I also got a few slices of different cheeses from deli; and, mango chutney and fresh grapes are in the fridge. I have pub cheese and a couple of pickled eggs I made (haven't made those in years). Rye bread is in the ABM too.
So, that is lunch and dinner. Grazing all day, while watching football, cooking, and taking down the Xmas stuff.
