If you have a toddler, or have ever had a toddler, you know of what I speak. You make a meal to die for and your young one just looks at the food and says with no uncertain tone:
I don't like it
Ah, the voice of reason, right? No. There is no reason because they simply haven't taken one small bite. They have not even smelled the dinner. In fact, they have never tried it before in their little life. It can't be your cooking. Perhaps toddlers have a predetermined idea of what constitutes good tastes and what does not. They seem to be born with it. Wrapped up in their mind from birth. Anything good mommy or daddy cooks that is good for me I shall not like. So, what to do? You can't force your kids to eat. You can; however, prepare and make meals that will satisfy their appetites and keep the rest of the family happy. Our family just has not found that fine balance yet. It seems our two year old wants only one dish. Noodles. Noodles with white cheese. Noodles with cheddar cheese. Noodles with red sauce (meat or no meat). Any kind of noodles. Veggies in there or no. But no ground beef. She says: "I don't like it." At this rate, I think my own toddler's brain is a noodle! What recipes do you make that makes your young ones say:
I like it!
