Jambalaya

Post by Kchurchill5 » Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:24 am

Now, I can't say this is totally home made, I had a little help; but, it was definitely delicious. I inherited some pantry boxed items, so ... why not use them. Zatarains Jambalaya Mix.

But, I added fresh celery, onions, peppers, more garlic, smoked sausage, and shrimp. It made a nice pot; and have enough for another night.

Note: I should of chopped the parsley finer, it was the curly kind; and, it looks to much on the plate ... but tasted good. Next time, CHOP more,

Kim, :-H
I think that jambalaya looks really good. :D
It doesn't hurt to use a boxed mix once
in awhile. And on the plus side, you did
add a bunch of goodies to make it your
own. I also think the parsley looks just fine
the way it is. I forgot to add, the colors on the
rim of the plate really look good w/ the
Jambalaya :D

Thx Shapes, appreciate it. Yeah, I inherited the box from that lady I cooked for ... so why not use it. It was mostly spices/seasonings and rice. But, it did turn out really good. And Zatarains isn't too bad either. If I would of added more shrimp or chicken, I could of easily got 4 meals, pretty inexpensive too.

But yeah, now and then, a pantry item can be pretty helpful. And like you - nothing goes to waste around here. ;)

#2 sure has my name on it! Both of them are lovely photos. Nice additions that you made. I love the brand (Zatarains) that you used - they have some very tasty choices but I always add my own touches to them too.
