Re: What's Up Today

Not a good idea to wait on that bladder infection, Diss. It's how my M-I-L passed away. What? I am taking cranberry pills and drinking cranberry juice. It no longer hurts when I go and it seems ok now... What do you mean die? Bladder infections are extremely dangerous and sometimes life thr...

Re: Gerry's Pot-Luck Event

Hiya Peeps..... I hope you are all having a great weekend ;) Wayne and I cooked up a bunch of skewers last night and it reminded me of how great these are for pot-lucks. http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/grilled-pork-skewers-1311 http://www.recipezazz.com/media/photos/photos/5/2/8/6/4/KgCUTW33_600x6...

Re: Tip of the Day!

OK, good to know. Didn't know that by that name. Makes sense. Never had anything clump; but, I can see how it could. Sometimes, veggies in my door, will do that, but not the main freezer part. Interesting. I've noticed it on things that don't freeze super hard. The herbs in a bit of oil, chipotles ...

Re: Tip of the Day!

KC, the self defrosting fridges are the "frost free" models. To accomplish that frost free feature, they go through small defrosting cycles. Depending on the type of food and how long you store it in that freezer, it can lump together due to the defrosting cycles. A frost-free freezer has three basi...

Re: Tip of the Day!

If you are freezing "ice cube" portions of goodies (the previously mentioned chipotle in adobo, lemon juice, lime juice, herbs in oil, etc) to use later be sure to store those cubes in the big freezer NOT the freezer for your self defrosting fridge. When the fridge freezer defrosts, it partially tha...

Re: Cold Meal?

The flop was Christmas Eve so I had to bake another red velvet cake immediately (Sweetie's gdaughter would not be a happy little girl without a red velvet cake for Christmas Day). Is just wasn't an option for Sweetie and I to eat it at the time. The second cake was absolutely perfect! All the same f...

Re: Cold Meal?

Elsie, I am using YOUR chocolate ganache in the trifle. I think it will take it straight over the top. :D Thank you! I hope you and your guests like it, Racr! :) I think it is sinfully good, but I like chocolate! The story with my red velvet trifle goes something like this......... I had a re...

Re: Cold Meal?

KC, I can pretty much guarantee the food is going to play second fiddle. We're distributing proceeds from my MIL's estate. There are going to be some happy grand kids getting big fat checks. I could probably feed them dog food and they wouldn't care.
