Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound sausage meat (bulk Italian sausage, sweet or spicy I like to use use spicy)
  • 1 jar (24 ounce) spaghetti sauce (Prego spaghetti sauce)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 package (1 pound) ziti pasta (or penne pasta)
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet cook the hamburger and sausage together until browned Add the onion, garlic and italian seasoning and saute for about 5 minutes, then add the spaghetti sauce, stir together and set aside. Add salt and pepper to you taste.

  • Step 2: Cook the ziti according to the package directions.

  • Step 3: Combine the ricotta cheese and egg together. In a large bowl add the cheese mixture, meat mixture and the pasta together and stir till mixed well.

  • Step 4: Spray a 9x13 casserole dish and transfer the ziti mixture into the dish. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.

  • Step 5: Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

  • Step 6: Remove the tin foil for the last 10 minutes of cooking.

  • Step 7: Serve.
