  • 1 cup dry white rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream (sweetened coconut cream found in the liquor department)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan; stir rice into boiling water.

  • Step 2: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 3: In a saucepan, combine 2 cups cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups milk, sugar and salt.

  • Step 4: Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy, 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Step 5: Stir in remaining 1/2 cup cream beaten egg, and raisins; cook 2 minutes more, stirring constantly.

  • Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
