The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups macaroni pasta (dry)
  • 3 cups chopped broccoli (fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon margarine (reduced fat type)
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 3/4 cups 2% milk
  • 1 1/2 cups reduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook pasta according to package instructions, omitting salt; add broccoli during the last 5 minutes of cooking time, drain and return to pan.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, melt margarine in medium saucepan over medium head; add flour, salt and pepper; cook and stir 1 minute. Stir in milk; bring to boil over medium high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes; remove from heat; gradually stir in cheese until melted. Add sauce to pasta and broccoli, stir until blended.
