Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup oats (rolled or quick oats)
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup splenda (or you could use sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup applesauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375.

  • Step 2: Put oats into a small blender and pulverize.

  • Step 3: Add the other dry ingredients and pulse a few times to mix, then transfer to a medium bowl.

  • Step 4: Add applesauce and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well with a rubber spatula or by hand.

  • Step 5: Spray a 9" pie plate lightly with cooking spray, then spread crust mixture using your hands into the pie plate starting from the middle and working your way up the sides.

  • Step 6: It may seem too dry, but be patient and keep spreading and it will be just right.

  • Step 7: Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until crisp.

  • Step 8: Cool before adding pie filling.
